Mandelieu-La-Napoule - What to do, see and visit :
Sailing, water skiing, diving, rowing, sea, river or lake fishing, speedboat racing, 2 golf courses, plenty of long distance footpaths and mountain bike trails in the Esterel massif and the Tanneron massif.
La Napoule has 20 restaurants including 2* L'Oasis, pizzeria and fish restaurants. Shops, bakery, butchers, deli, supermarket, hairdressers, clothes shops, casino, hotels, bars, cafes. River walks, and parks with children activities. Chateau de la Napoule open to the public.
Itineraries:
Water sports can be found along the coastal routes and there is tennis in Mandelieu La Napoule. For families a ten minute drive to Cannes le Bocca will take you to go-karting, quad biking and laser quest.
Driving east along the coast from Cannes to Nice are the resorts of Juan-les-Pins, Cap d’Antibes and Antibes. From Nice towards Monaco drive along the beautiful corniches of the Riviera and visit St Jean Cap Ferrat, Villefranche and Beaulieu sur Mer. From Monte Carlo you can follow the coast to the elegant town of Menton then on to the Italian Riviera resort of San Remo.
Driving west along the coast from Mandelieu towards St Tropez along the “corniche of the Esterel” you can visit Agay, St Raphael, Frejus, Sainte Maxime before reaching the marina village of Port Grimaud and then St Tropez.
Travelling inland you can visit St Paul de Vence. the famous perfume centre of Grasse and the historic town of Mougins famous for its art galleries, restaurants and cookery school.
Walking from the properties:
From the properties there is a trail to the Forest of the Grand Duc where there are many marked pathways and picnic areas. Here you can relax and perhaps indulge in a glass of champagne to celebrate this wonderful area! There are stunning views over the mimosa covered valley all along this easy walking route. The peace and serenity of the area offer a wonderful contrast to the lively and exciting Riviera resorts.
Golf:
GOLF IN MANDELIEU
In Mandelieu there are two excellent golf courses. The Riviera Golf Club and the Old Course Cannes Mandelieu.
Riviera Golf Club.
Built during the 1990s, Riviera Golf was designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior. Mostly level with some hills and lakes. This is an 18 hole, par 72 course of 5,736 metres with practice tees and putting green.
The Old Course, Cannes-Mandelieu
Inaugurated in 1891, it is the oldest course on the coast. A very beautiful course lined with umbrella pines around the Siagne River. During the course of a game, you even have to take a short boat ride. This is an 18-hole course of 5,676 metres, par 71, complete with a 9-hole course of 2,409 meters, par 33. There is a good practice area and a lovely old world clubhouse. Our personal favourite.
There are many other Golf Clubs in easy travelling distance:Three around Mougins (15 mins): The Royal Mougins (home of the Cannes Open); Opio Valbonne; and Cannes-Mougins. Three more around Grasse (25mins): St Donat; La Grande Bastide; and Grasse Golf & Country Club. One in St Raphael (30 min): Esterel Latitudes Golf Club. Two at Ste-Maxime ((35 mins): Beauvallon-Grimaud Golf Club; Ste-Maxime Golf Club. One at La Motte (45 mins): St Endreol. In addition to these, there are five other superb courses not more than one hour's drive from the apartment.
