Situated in a 350 year old building with meter-thick walls keeping the apartment cool on the hottest of days. Ideally located in the 'Old Quarter' of Menton, only 50m from the beach and 80m from the Cafe's and Restaurants. The two bedroom apartment, one en-suite, has plenty of space for a family. The apartment is about 69m², it has 2 bedrooms. The 2nd bedroom has a single bed and a shower in it. There is plenty of additional space in the 2nd bedroom for storage. Both bedrooms and en-suite bathroom have polished wooden floors. Separating the bedrooms from the living room is a tiled hallway with 3 double-wardrobes. The living room has 2 double bed-settees, TV (not connected to French TV), DVD and all the other mod cons. The American-style kitchen has a cooker, hob, washing machine, microwave and all the normal utilities you would expect at home (iron etc). The apartment looks out onto the cobbled Rue Longue and is just below the beautiful baroque Basilica Saint Michel.

Menton is a delightful town, situated only 1.6 km from Italy, 8km from Monaco and 28km from Nice. It has old-world charm, beautiful architecture and good clean beaches. The old town is particularly quaint, with narrow cobbled paths leading between the buildings as they rise up to the cemetery at the top of the hill. Menton has the best climate of the whole of the Cote d'Azur with 300 sunny days a year it is a great place to relax and unwind. There is so much to see in the area, from the numerous beaches, coves and towns along the Cote d'Azur, to the mountain ranges of the Mercantour National Park with its 3000m peaks. The terrain is excellent for cyclists and runners. Many Tour de France riders train in the area. Access is excellent as Nice airport has a bus that comes into Menton, or take the train from Nice centre. Car hire is not necessary unless you wish to explore further afield. The hilltop villages are a real treat for photographers, and artists.

Notes: There are 15 steps from the road up to the apartment, which are a little steep. An elderly person may struggle with them, but there is a handrail to assist. Being 350-400 years old, this area is not suited to vehicles. You can park outside the apartment to drop off luggage, but parking is further back up the road, or down by the beach, making the apartment very quiet. There is a double-bed in the main bedroom, a single bed in the 2nd bedroom and two double-bed settees in the living room. Bed linen, pillow cases and bath towels are provided, at a charge of €40 to include cleaning of the apartment.
