You can't get closer to the heart of Nice. Our lovely apartment was once the dining hall for a 500 year old monastery! Beautifully fitted out to a high standard with; queen size double bed & huge corner bath with shower in the bedroom,open plan living/dining area with modern fitted kitchen with oven/microwave & ceramic hob,& dishwasher. TV/DVD, ipod dock, sofa bed. This amazing ground floor apartment with vaulted ceilings has 3 big French windows facing south onto a small courtyard which opens directly onto Cours Saleya (the world famous fruit and flower market) and all the best of Nice. Within a few metres you have pavement cafes, great restaurants, live street music, the Mediterranean beach, the fresh fruit and flower market, fascinating little shops, the bakery, art galleries, and much, much more! Perfect for the romantic break you'll always remember.

This special apartment is really right in the heart of the OLD City, just step across the courtyard onto the world-famous Cours Saleya, fresh fruit and flower market (Tuesday to Sunday) and fascinating antique market (Mondays). Wake up to hot bread smells coming through the window, perhaps up for an early morning swim in the Mediterranean. Then for breakfast, fresh croissant and coffee in a sunny pavement cafe and watch the world go by..... buy your fresh fruit and vegetables on the market for lunch, all a few steps from your door! And for the afternoon perhaps, you're 2 minutes from the unique shops, artists, galleries and designers of old Nice streets. For the evening - dinner at some of the best restaurants in Nice (Le Safari is next door!) with entertainment from the street musicians. Plenty of nightlife at the clubs or, for a quieter evening, a stroll along the promenade. The beach is just across the road, and the Port and Chateau 10 minutes walk.

Security/damage deposit of £150 payable before arrival. This will be returned directly to your home within two weeks of departure. Notes: Like the locals, we use the beach as our terrace and the Mediterranean as our swimming pool! Ideal for a couple, possible for 3/4 people. Not ideal for young children. Thick walls, and windows with louvre shutters, make this apartment comfortable in the summer heat. You can hire bikes and roller blades nearby. There is underground parking (additional payment) with the lift close by, but the Cote d'Azur roads are very busy in summer and you don't need a car. The apartment is ground floor but has a few steps up, so may not be suitable for persons with mobility constraints.The beach is just across the road, and the Port and Chateau 10 minutes walk. Although city centre, the apartment is unlike most Nice apartments as there is no traffic noise. Day trips include; Monte Carlo(20minutes),Ventimiglia Market in Italy(great leather goods, Fridays,45mins), St Paul de Vence (art galleries, Fondation Maeght, 40mins) and winter skiing in Isola (1hr30mins).

Golf: There are many local golf courses; particularly Mougins and Cannes, about 30 minutes. Underground parking (pay) is available few steps from the apartment.

Local Skiing: Winter skiing is easy; Isola 2000 is a large modern resort, very popular, with good lifts and well maintained runs for all abilities. It is 2,000 metres high and usually has good snow from before Xmas to March. It's about 1hr30mins drive from Nice, or there is a ski-bus service from central Nice (10 minute walk from our apartment). Auron, Valberg, Greolieres, and a number of smaller resorts are lower altitude and hence have snow for a shorter time, they are about the same driving time from Nice. Limone in Italy is prettier and about the same size, it is about a 2hour drive.

We stayed for 3 weeks from the beginning of September but next time we visit we will go a few weeks later as it was still hot (for us) - around 30 - for the first few days.
The apartment is very well situated, very comfortable, very well equiped, stylish, very clean & feels spacious. As it is so central it can be noisy early morning / late at night as people pack away & get ready to set up next morning - not good if you are a light sleeper although as the windows are double glazed it is possible to close them & turn on the very efficient fans to cut out the sounds of other people working! Of course if you want a quiet holiday don't go to central Nice - go to the country.
There are restauants & bars of every description (& price) within a few minutes walk - an excellent "cave" for very reasonably priced wine & as well as the wonderful daily market there are a variety fresh pasta shops, bread / cake / pizza shops & a cheese & rotisseried chicken shop to die for.
We were very impressed with the arrangements for arriving at the apartment. We had been left by the very expensive Taxi at the west end of Cours Salaya but Joy found us looking confused before we had time to turn round & led us in the right direction.She cleaned the apartment & changed the linen very efficiently & was very helpful with information about how things worked. It was lovely to find little things like washing up liquid, salt, sugar, oil & vinegar so that we could enjoy buying peaches & wine! There is a good selection of local guides & a few dvd's & CD'S. A tea pot & Cafetier & a vase for the lovely flowers made it as comforable as home.
The bus network is amazing - as far as you like (we went to Menton) for 1 euro.We intend to return next year as there is lots more to see do & eat .

Exactly what i was looking for!

We spent almost one month at Wendy’s apartment in June and everything was great!
It is perfectly located near anything you might need: beach, restaurants, shops, pubs etc.
The apartment itself is so lovely and very well equipped: both my two year old son and me
felt really comfortable here!!!
Definitely it’s a place to come back to and to recommend!

Lovely apartment in excellent location

We stayed in the apartment for 3nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Four of us stayed here and it was plenty big enough for us all, the sofa bed is the most comfortable i've ever slept in. We found it was in an excellent location for everything. The apartment has a lovely feel to it and i would definately stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Overall a great stay!!!

BEAUTIFUL FLAT WITH VAULTED CEILINGS !

It's not the first time we have stayed in this apartment. We were more than happy to return this May for a relaxing week. It's such a great location beside the Cours Saleya market with everything on your doorstep. Shops,cafes,restaurants, beach and promenade.( also two yummy bakers nearby !! )
It is beautifully renovated,clean and comfortable. The place has 'style' as can be seen by the attention to detail.

Spent glorious week at Wendy's apartment at the end of April.
Everything was as described and the apartment was very clean, comfortable, well equiped and in a great location.

Try the bus to Monte Carlo (leaves bus stn every 15 mins), 35 minutes along the coast, stops beside the Casino in the heart of Monaco and all for €1 each!
