Two bedroom flat, sleeps 4 near beach, shops, train station and airport.

This 4th floor two bedroom flat in central Nice has been modernised and furnished to luxury standard whilst keeping its original features. It sleeps up to 4 people. There is period marble floor throughout kitchen, bathroom, entrance hall and corridor and oak in sitting room/lounge/second bedroom and main bedroom.

Distance to local shops and buses (on doorstep), mainline train station (7 minutes on foot), beach and old town (15minutes on foot), airport (20 minutes taxi/bus ride).

Nice offers all the benefits of a new and old town as well as miles of beaches. Good and reasonably priced restaurants compliment a vibrant night life.

For walkers you can join the coastal path easily by train or go on day trips to Cannes, Antibes, Montecarlo/Monaco, Italy etc.

No children and pets.

  • Rates include large reduction for only 2 people renting. Some rental periods by 25%. *Rental can be taken in euros.
    *Price listed are for two people (65pounds or equivalent euros per additional person or 100 for 2) and does not include bedlinen and towels.
    Additional 35 pounds for checking flat :because of previous problems with keys and cleanliness there is a deposit of £250 or euros which is returned as soon as keys have been returned and flat has been pronounced left in original condition.
    Soiled mattress protectors and mattresses that need to be replaced or cleaned will be charged and deducted from deposit.
  • *Guests are normally requested to bring their own bedlinen and towels but occasionally these can be provided at a cost ( £30 per double bed includes one set of clean sheet and pillow cases per week and 1 large and one small towel per person. These towels are white and are not to be used for the beach.

HINTS ON TRANSPORT: By booking early on internet you can benefit from cheap flights from Easyjet from Luton, Gatwick or Standsted or Liverpool etc... Same applies with British Airways, Virgin and British Midland.

Cost of taxi from airport to flat: £15 - takes 15 minutes.

Direct bus from Airport to mainline station:£3.00 plus 5 minutes walk or get a bus that leaves you outside the flat.

Buy a weekly bus ticket on the bus or at the newsagent.

HINTS ON FOOD: You can eat very well at lunchtime in cafes near the flat and in most of Nice. £5-7 pp for a 2 course meal. Wine by the carafe is cheap.

There is a food market daily 2 minutes from the flat with local produces from the region and Italy. Great to visit.

HINTS ON VISITS: There is a tourist office in the mainline station. They will provide you with an endless list of activities or places/museums to visit. Use it!

For serious walkers the owners will provide maps of gentle or more serious walks done. There is also a train going to the mountains 2 minutes from the flat. Just get on it to visit other places more inland. Worth more than one visit.

The flat was very clean & came with all the neccessary items to make the stay enjoyable. The kitchen has a balcony which allows breakfast to be enjoyed in the sun.

There is a street market every other day, around the corner, selling fresh fruit & veg

The property is only a 10min walk from the beach & train station
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Thank you to Donald for your succinct comments. He and his teenage daughter rented our flat last July for a week and he contacted me a month ago to book the flat for just under a week in May this time for him and his partner. Good to read that he appreciated the flat.

I learnt that I need to sign my guide books for visitors to use during stay as his daughter left with our copy thinking it was hers. They posted it back immediately on return. Thanks Marylise

Great week in sunny Nice

Had a great week in this lovely apartment, it was in a ideal position for exploring nice and the surrounding area's, with a bus stop just outside the apartment block and the train station a 15 minute walk or short 1euro bus ride away! the local shops where all stocked well and the local pizza shop around the corner on ave de pessicart was great!

Excellent apartment and location in Nice

I would definately recommend you book this apartment for your stay in Nice. The apartment is in a very central location and close to many eating places, internet cafes, public transport and bus 23 from Nice airport will drop you off outside the apartment for 1 euro! The owner met us on arrival and was very pleasant and helpfull. The apartment is spacious with a balcony front and back, and nice kitchen to prepare a nice meal if you prefer to stay in for a lazy evening. Not far from the apartment you can rent a bike from velo bleu a great way to explore the old and new town along the many cycle routes. The apartment was clean and well maintained and not far away is the sncf train station. I intend to go back again next year so a big thank you to the owner for renting the apartment to us.

Summer Holiday in Nice

Lovely clean flat, close to shops, markets and all amenities.We did a lot of exploring and found it easy and convenient with the trains, trams and even bike hire just down the road. Nice itself has far more than just the beach,and the rest of the Cote d'Azur is easy to explore in the day on the train. Art lovers will have lots to see as Picasso, Renoir,Matisse and Chagall all have great museums nearby.There are several picturesque and historic hill top towns that are well worth a look. Eze can be very busy, but does deserve it'sreputation for the fantastic view, it is possible to avoid the crowds if you walk up the steep path[take plenty of water!] A great base for a holiday.

I stayed in this apartment for a week in June. The flat was clean and very well equipped. As there was only two of us there was plenty of space.

We would recommend the 1 euro bus fare. We ended up travelling to Monaco, Eze and Cannes by bus. In addition we hired out some bikes for the day and went cycling to Antibes, which was an enjoyable day.

The apartment gives you the option of eating in. We enjoyed eating breakfast with the sun shining on the balcony and made numerous meals, using the supermarket just down the road.

We had a lovely time and I would definately stay again.

Owner's Response: Thanks Kathryn for the review. Glad you had a good time and good weather. Just want to add that you can take the tramway about 5 minutes from the flat and then use the same 1 euro ticket at the bus station that takes you to Monaco or anywhere in the PACA region..

You may enjoy renting a bike along the promenade and cycling beyond the airport to the next sandy beaches a good 40 minutes' ride...

Also, you can get just outside the flat ( Gutenberg stop) from T1 using the 23 bus but this service only runs until 8.30 at night. Taxis charge what they wish even using a meter and the cost can soon be around 40/50 euros or 35 to 45 pounds.
