Incredible apartment, incredible people

My wife and I have rented several apartments throughout Europe over the years, and the Cours Saleya apartment in Nice puts them all to shame.
The location is perfect, with the both Old Town and the beach right outside your door. You're right in the middle of the action, with a vibrant nightlife and a fantastic selection of restaurants all around, but close the windows and the shades and all that hustle and bustle just disappears (thank goodness, since Cours Saleya stays hoppin until two in the morning!).
The apartment itself is also wonderful, a great combination of rustic charm and modern amenities. The layout is great if you have parents with older children or two couples travelling together; with the living room and kitchen separating the two main bedrooms there is plenty of privacy (plus two separate bathrooms!). We had no need for the smaller kid's room off the master bedroom, but I imagine it would be perfect for younger children. We also didn't use the kitchen nearly as much as we should have but it really is a full-service kitchen; it's not lack of facilities that kept us from using it, just a willingness to spoil ourselves!
Perhaps the most wonderful thing about this place, though, is the people. Emmanuelle is such a joy to do business with; courteous, kind, considerate and patient with us when things didn't exactly go as planned. I cannot stress this enough; all too often property owners and/or managers can be cold and efficient (which has its place), but dealing with Emma always made me feel welcomed and appreciated.
Fatima, who takes care of the apartment and greets tenants on arrival, was a wonderful tornado of enthusiastic, friendly energy, and immediately made us feel at home. She speaks little English, so study your French, but nothing was lost in between our shaky understanding of the language and some clever sign language.
Emmanuelle’s list of recommended restaurants in the area was fantastic. Not a loser in the bunch (and in such a touristy area that is certainly a danger). Since she hadn’t had time to add it to the list, she verbally recommended a restaurant right behind the apartment, Chat Noir Chat Blanc, which provided us with the best meal we had on our entire trip. Just watch your daughters around Giorgio the chef, as he’s quite the charmer…
All in all, I cannot recommend this apartment enough. Treat yourself; we're certainly glad we did.
