Renovated in 2006, with new bathroom, kitchen, separate toilet room. The luxurious kitchen boasts the latest in appliances with an induction cook top, dishwasher, large refrigerator and separate freezer with microwave. Free internet access, free EU,CND, USA, AUST. Tel to landlines and free TV (flat screen set) The apart. faces both north onto an inner courtyard and south on Rue Verdi, so there is a cross-draft in summertime to keep you cool. There is a large dressing room. Ceilings are high and oak floors add a classy touch. The apart. is part of an Art Deco building, called 'Palais Mireille'(facelift in 2008) Only 5 blocks from the world-famous Negresco hotel and the Promenade des Anglais beachfront, this is the best neighbourhood in Nice. Walk from here down the Promenade des Anglais to get to Old Nice, or 4 blocks to the pedestrian zone with its animated nightlife. Restaurants, café-terraces, art galleries and all manner of shopping are close by. 10minutes walk to the train station.

The apartment is only a five minute walk to the beach. It is also only a few blocks from the Avenue Jean Medecin where you will have access to Nice's premier shopping centre, Nice Etoile, and the main shopping district, and the city centre. A grocery store, a pharmacy and a bakery for fresh croissants are just across the street. There are large supermarkets on Avenue Gambetta, only 3 blocks away. Strolling along the Promenade des Anglais to the Old City, you will enjoy its lively restaurants, bars and animated nightlife. On the way to the beach is rue de France, a typical French pedestrian street with many sidewalk cafés and restaurants. The train station is only 5 minutes away with direct service to whole French Riviera such as Cannes, Monaco and Antibes. No need for a car, everything is accessible on foot. Only 3 blocks away is a lovely park for sitting and strolling, on the intersection of Gambetta and Victor Hugo.

  • Prices are for the property per week in euros, this encompasses sheets. No extra fees. The apartment sleeps up to 6. Deposit of 25% required with booking. Full payment required minimum of 1 month before arrival. Payment is in euros. Credit card payment through PAYPAL is preferred but cheques will be accepted if received at least one month prior to arrival.
    Arrivals are at a nominated time after 5pm on Saturdays. It may be possible to arrange times outside of this in advance - but this cannot be guaranteed. Checkout is 10:00am the following Saturday. A security/damage deposit of 300 euros is payable one month before arrival. This will be returned directly to your home within two weeks of departure. Your apartment will be cleaned for you on your arrival.

Family visit to Nice.

We travelled as a family of two adults and 2 children (7 and 4). The apartment is handy to the main train station which is the drop off point for those who get the bus from the airport. It was easily found and the owner gave a good tour of the property upon arrival.
Less than 10 minutes walk to the promenade and the Russian Cathedral, slightly further to the old town. Easy access to a variety of play parks, restaurants, supermarkets etc. The boulangerie around the corner was a regular stop for fresh croissants and bread.
The apartment was clean and well fitted out with DVD player, washing machine, internet access etc. It got hot in the evenings when the windows were closed but that's hardly unusual in Nice during July! The tiny lift and circular staircase may make it unsuitable for those with disabilities.
I would have no problem recommending this property to family or friends. All our dealings with the owner went like clockwork and the apartment certainly met our expectations.

Enjoyable long weekend

We, 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, had a very good long weekend in Nice. We travelled to Nice by Eurostar and TGV, the apartment was an easy, short walk from Nice station. We were met at the apartment by the owners who gave us a very thorough guided tour as well as advice on places to visit and restaurants.

The apartment was clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. It was a 7-8 minute walk to the beach and not much further to the main shopping and restaurant areas.

We went to Monaco for the Grand Prix on two days, and being so close to the railway station it made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Plenty of museums, art, galleries and shopping all in easy reach.

We would recommend the property for short breaks.

Outstanding for our needs

The owners couldnt have been more accomodating to our changing needs. The appartment is perfect for kids and really although beautiful, it would be pretty difficult for them to break anything (though the 2nd bedroom balcony railing is a mite shorter than I woud trust our 3 year old onto alone).

Only downside is the friday night bin emptying at 3am: very noisy but mercifully short.

Location is perfect for all Nice desinations and completely safe. The 8 a 8 store is surprisingly useful: far better than the casino supermarket at the other end of the road.

totally charming and great value too.
