Nice holiday apartment: Nice

Really pleased we booked this property - it was priced just right for 4 people and was a good size - bigger than most we have stayed in. The location could not have been better for us, next to the beach and with the bus stop outside we were in the old town every day for 2 euros! Alex was very helpful all the way through the process and was always there to guide us. The Radisson facilities were an added bonus!! We would recommend this to anyone.

We rented the apartment for 4 nights in October 2009. The apartment itself was very promising. It is relatively quiet and spacious and close to the beach but is between 2 busy roads. There is no parking so if you have a car its difficult.

The apartment was poorly maintained and dirty. The sheets and towels that were supplied were very very smelly and although there is a washing machine there was no possibility of drying them. We had two young families so wanted to cook. Cooking equipment was poor (teflon pans are scratched and old) and there were not enough glasses. The coffee maker was broken. The hoover was full and no new bags for it. Five light bulbs were broken. The apartment needs a good clean, fresh linen and re-equipping, then our experience would have been much better.

My wife and I rented the apartment on a long term basis for ten months up to July 09. In the main we found it to be great and Alex, the owner, was very easy to deal with and responded quickly if there were any problems. The apartment was clean and in good order.
During the warmer months it was simply wonderful to be able to wander over to the beach, swim and hang out. The beach is great - don't be put off by the pebbles, just make sure you have a pair of neoprene (or similar) swimming shoes. In fact a pebble beach is great because you don't get sand everywhere.
The view from the balcony is very attractive and we found we spent a lot of time there, eating. reading and generally enjoying the vista.
The apartment is a fair distance from the city centre but the walk along the Promenade des Anglais is always interesting - and if you stay in town for the evening you can take the night bus back; it stops outside the apartment - the stop is St Helene.
The apartment is within easy reach of the airport. Walking takes about 40 minutes - but for one Euro you can take the 23 bus which stops right outside the apartment building. Don't waste money on the 98 Airport Express.
One thing I would particularly recommend is hiring bikes. With bikes you can get to the centre of town quickly - and safely, because there is an excellent cycle path all the way. And if you do hire bikes consider heading off in the other direction, to St Laurent du Var and Cagnes sur Mer. There is a cycle path most of the way and these places, often overlooked by short term visitors, have a wide variety of attractions from numerous restaurants to the delightful Renoir Museum. The old medieval village of Haut de Cagnes is also well worth a visit.
There are lots of shops nearby. I would recommend turning right out of the apartment building and walking about 5/600 yards to an area called Carras where there are lots of small shops of character and quality. Beyond these you will find Carrefour and Casino supermarkets. We preferred Casino.
Bus travel is cheap - you can do lots of journeys, eg to Cannes or Monaco for one Euro - consider also some inland towns such as Aspremont which is most attractive and never particularly busy.
