Photos and Description of this Nice holiday apartment Quiet no through road, tucked behind Promenade Des Anglais, near Negresco Hotel

This is a smart 1960's purpose built block of apartments, all with terraces and central hot water and heating. The building is entered by a large marble foyer with two lifts available. Situated on the second floor, the Living Room, Kitchen and Bedroom all open onto the terrace through large glass doors. The floors are marble tiled and parquet in the bedroom. The whole place was refurbished by an Italian company to a high standard and has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet. Walls are painted in soft pastels or white providing a clean relaxed ambiance. Simply but luxuriously furnished in imported Californian Lucite furniture, the light is reflected throughout. This was purchased as my first home so it is always treated with loving care. The location is 2 minutes from the sea and restaurants/shops/supermarket but in a cul de sac away from the traffic. There are free but popular parking spaces down below. 20 min walk to old town, Place Massena and tramway.

Based 4 blocks down from the famous Negresco Hotel on the perimeter of the Carre D'or, the apartment is one block in from the sea in a quiet no -through road within a quiet residential building. It is 2 minutes from the beach and nearest restaurants, supermarket and all the private shops in Rue De France behind. All water sports available on the seafront. Fine art museums are within minutes walk. Day trips to Cannes, St Tropez, Monaco etc are easy by train or bus, as is the border of Italy. The old town with its cobbled streets and varied restaurants, Place Massena, the tramway and the main shopping centre is 20 minutes walk . The Port Leads to beautiful rocky coastal walks towards Ville Franche. Airport is 15 minutes on the bus and the bus stop is right outside on the promenade. Beautiful views from the hills and villages around and boat trips along the coast or out to Corsica/Sardinia during high season

Notes: The apartment is beautifully furnished in 1970's Lucite furniture imported from California. (I used to be an antique dealer in my old life). It provides light and spaciousness but requires loving care so regretfully not the best option for children. It is fine to smoke on the terrace.( NO SMOKING INSIDE PLEASE) And whilst you are out there with your gin and tonic , please remember to 'slosh' a little water into my plants. The beauty of this apartment is that it is shielded from all the noise/wind on the seafront. It has a lovely sunny balcony full of plants and is so a plant lovers paradise. Amazingly there are FREE PARKING spaces underneath but of course you have to be quick to get one! Great shops and restuarants in immediate vicinity . But its a quiet building so please don't ask the local waiters back for a rave!!

Our wonderful stay at Le Mogador, Nice

My partner and I booked this apartment for his birthday during July 2008. It was the first time that we have opted for a private apartment and I must say that we had the most fantastic time ever. The very friendly owners picked us up from the airport, even though we had a delay and it was late at night. Our first impressions of the apartment was 'what a great place' and I can confirm that it is exactly as the photographs displayed on the site and I mean exactly - it is beautiful, spotlessly clean - I wanted to move in forever! The description of this apartment is totally accurate. It is literally 2 mins from the Promenade and the sea and really is in a ideal location to enjoy Nice. It is quiet and peaceful and the balcony is a great place to have a BBQ (yes there is a BBQ for you to use and we did) and a bottle of wine or two in the evenings. The balcony is also very sunny and great to sunbathe during the day. There is every modern convenience to use including a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave etc which made life easy if you prefer to eat in rather than spend lots of money eating out every night. The supermarket and bakery were just around the corner so it was very convenient to stock up the fridge with food and vino! We have friends who live in Nice and we entertained them most evenings and they told us that the apartment was in a 'posh' area of Nice! It is literally a 20 minute walk to Old Nice where there is a great selection of restuarants where you can eat outdoors. The owners were great and even called us after a few days to check that everything was ok. I would, and have, recommended this property to family and friends and will definitely book again for 2009 when we can decide on the date. If you book this property you will be delighted. Wonderful birthday experience

My friend and I chose the apartment to celebrate a significant birthday and it was just as described. The location was excellent to reach from the airport without a car, the facilites superb and the flat spotless and well maintained. The owner did all in her power to make our stay as memorable as possible even providing a birthday treat!
As it was literally a few steps from the Promenade all the action was on the doorstep. A few steps in the other direction and there was the boulangerie, supermarket and chic shops. Definitely recommend it for a couple, two friends who need individual accommodation or a family of three. Cannot wait to return.

Nice visit

It was our second visit to Nice and so much better in this beautiful flat.It was exactly as described in the advert. Everything required for your stay and was exceptionally clean and tidy. All rooms exited on to the balcony and the common areas were clean and tidy. The owner Jane was waiting for us on arrival and provided excellent information on the area and things to do. She made us very welcome and was only a phone call away (free international calls) for advice.
I would definitely recommend this flat to a friend as it was by far the best accomodation i have stayed in abroad.
Jane recommended visiting the small medieval towns such as Eze and St Paul de Vence and we were not disappointed. The transport system is fantastic (1euro on the bus) to all destinations.
Owner's Response: I am so pleased it was as you wished. Yes, Eze and St Paul de Vence are a must if you want to get an insight into the hillside villages. There is also a little steam train which takes you up into the mountains for about 10 euros if you fancy something different.

Catching those rays

We were looking for a quality apartment that was quiet and comfortable, and this ticked all the boxes. An excellent location enabling you to embrace the local sights and community. Lots of choice of restaurants with a superb supermarket in the next road if you wanted to stay in and cook, as we did most days. The Rose' was delicous and great value! We hired Bikes from the Scooter shop in the next road and thoroughly enjoyed the hair-raising ride on "the little train" We would also recommend the Matisse Museum.

Jane was very helpful and informative, and nothing was too much trouble - she even picked us up at the airport which was a great start to the holiday.
Owner's Response: Marvelous! That little bike shop is great. There is also the new Town hall version of 'velo bleu' bikes which are now dotted all over nice. You can hire a bike up to 30 minutes for free and after that, if you have a season ticket, its only one euro a day. Probably a bit more for tourists but quite fun as you can pick them up in one place and drop them off somewhere else. You will need some french though!
