Our ground floor apartment is situated in Place Ste. Clair, Vieux Nice and just minutes away from the Cours Saleya. It is near enough to enjoy the bustling markets, shops, restaurants and bars of the old town but far enough away for it to be a quiet and peaceful haven. The beaches, museums, art galleries and theatres are also close at hand. Where else could you have such diversity of venues on your doorstep? The apartment is light and airy with white marble floors throughout. The fully furnished double bedroom has a new double bed and the large walk-in cupboard takes care of the storage. The bathroom is fitted to a high standard with a bath/shower, washhand basin and w.c. The American style kitchen with its tiled worktops is fully equipped for four people and has an oven, hob and hood, dishwasher, washing machine dryer and refrigerator. Vieux Nice is the old centre of Nice and is where every one wants to visit. The retaurants,bars,shops and the famous Cours Saleya market as well as the Nice Opera House are all within easy walking distance of the apartment. The beach and the famous Promenade des Anglais are only a 10-minute walk away.Vieux Nice is also famous for its Baroque and Classical music concerts which take place in the several 17th century churches in the Old Town. Jazz is also a firm favourite with several bars having regular jazz nights,in particular Bar des Oiseaux behind the Place de Prefecture.The famous Jazz Festival takes place in the Cimiez Gardens every July. Nice is also famous for its Art Museums with the Chagall and Matisse Museums a short bus ride away from Place Garibaldi.The Museum of Modern Art is a short walk away. Raoul Dufy,Fernand Leger,Pablo Picasso have all museums dedicated to their works in Nice,Biot and Antibes. In St Paul de Vence you have the famous Fondation Maeght. Endless!!!

Additional information about rental rates

  • A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. Electricity, water charges and end of holiday clean are included in all the above prices as well as linen and towels. Keys are collected from ourselves as we are resident in Nice. Availability is all year round. Changeover day is normally Saturday but we are flexible about this. For short breaks, we usually charge 75% of the weekly rate. We do not normally take short breaks during the busy summer months of July and August. We can only accept payment by Visa or Mastercard via our own credit card machine. We meet you with the keys and talk you through the flat and Vieux Nice as there is so much to do!
  • We ask you to vacate no later than 10.00 a.m. and take over no earlier than 4.00 p.m. Please always check our current availability before booking. However we are flexible with this and if the flat is not ready for you in the morning,you can always leave your cases and return later to pick up the keys. Conversly if we do not have a booking that day and your flight leaves in the evening you will be able to leave your cases until you have to leave. All we ask is that you are packed at 10am,ready to leave.

Notes: There are two flights of steps down to the apartment and the surrounding areas are steep with numerous flights of steps so the apartment is not suitable for elderly or people who are frail. This flat is ideal for a family with young or teenage children as access is very easy from the beach and from the centre of the Old Town. Also in the Chateau Gardens, which is just outside the front door,there is the most fabulous chidren's playground. Within a short bus/train ride is Marineland with its dolfins,sharks and killer whales. Every family who has gone there is knocked out with it all especially the children. The kitchen is fully equiped for preparing family meals so there is no reason to eat out if you do not want to. The fresh ingredients,meat, fish pasta cheese and vegetables in the Old Town are fantastic! If you want a sandy beach,a short bus ride (1.Euro) takes you to Villefranche where there is a fantastic sandy beach with a shallow shelf into the sea water. And amazing snorkeling

Festivals: Nice has some great festivals throughout the year, the most famous being the Carnival in February. Book early for this one. Also the Monaco Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival.

General Information: We have left timetables, maps and as much information about the surrounding area as we could think of. But if there is something else you need to know, the main Tourist Office is on the Promenade des Anglais. We can arrange for the hire of linen and towels for £25 and we charge an additional £25 for an end of holiday clean. A £25 non-cashable cheque is requested for the key deposit and the key is normally sent prior to the holiday arrival date.

Other Activities: Serious sight seeing,antiquing,snorkeling,attending classical and jazz concerts and visiting the amazing art galleries. Also mega yach spotting!!
