Villefranche sur mer is arguably the most beautiful bay on the French Riviera. The deep horseshoe bay surrounded by colourful buildings of all shapes and sizes is truly spectacular. There is a large sandy beach at the foot of the bay, ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The Old Town is steeped in history, you will find the Rue Obscure and the Citadel enchanting. A maze of historic narrow streets lined with quaint restaurants and bars lead downwards past the beautiful historic church to the picturesque seafront. Here on the edge of the unspoilt quay you will find more restaurants with breathtaking views on the bay. You can hire a boat or take a boat trip from here. There are plenty of local shops and boutiques. Its proximity to Nice and Monaco makes it a perfect base for exploration of the French Riviera. This beautiful bay continues to attract the most amazing people from all around the world.

The buses stop on the main road outside the apartment and travel into Nice in one direction and Menton/Monaco in the other along the coastal roads. The beauty of this apartment is that you needn't incur the cost of a hire car as you can travel by bus or train up and down the coast at a very reasonable price.

Local Amenities

Local shops such as a butcher, small supermarket, deli, fruit shop, SPAR, bakery, chemist, newsagent etc. are all within 350 yards walk of the apartment at the centre of the village. In addition to this there are other similar local shops in the Old Town within 500 metres walk of the apartment. There is a fantastic Champion supermarket on the coast road at Mont Boron accessible easily by bus. There is a large supermarket in Nice, 10 minutes drive away. There are a number of cash dispensing machines within 350 yards walk of the apartment in the centre of the village.

Transport

The bus stops on the main road outside the apartment and will take you into Nice or in the other direction to Menton/Monaco along the coast road. The railway station is approx. 6 minutes walk from the apartment. It is possible to travel along the Riviera from Menton/Ventimiglia to St Raphael by train along the coast stopping at places like Monte Carlo in Monaco, Nice, Antibes and Cannes. From the airport it is possible to travel to the apartment by bus, train, transfer service or taxi. Car hire is available at the airport although it is possible to use public transport only.

Interior

Bedroom Area: Double bed with duvet cover, two pillows and linen, bedside table with lamp, book shelf above bed. Double doors leading direct to the Balcony. Bathroom: Bath, basin with mirror above, WC, bidet and shower and Dressing Area incorporating large robe for hanging and storage, full length mirror, towels, hairdryer, iron and board. Living Room: L Shaped sofa which converts into a double bed with duvet cover and two pillows and linen, two coffee tables. TV/DVD/CD on base table. Double doors leading direct to the Balcony. Kitchen: dishwasher, washing machine, oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave and kettle. Glasses, crockery, cutlery, pans, coffee and tea pot and utensils. Dining Area: Circular glass dining table with four chairs. Hallway: Large mirror, bench and notice board, hooks for coats, space for luggage. Balcony: Table and four outdoor chairs. We have an honesty bar in the Kitchen (red and white wine and a bottle of water).

Other Activities Beach, Walks, Boat trips, Shopping, Antique markets, Historic Old Town and Citadel, Nice Harbour, Promenade.

Skiing Information:

Skiing is 1 hours drive away in the Alps.
