VSM easy access to so many exciting places

This wonderful apartment at VSM on the French Riviera was an ideal place to spend my 3 weeks, inviting two old friends from Australia, another from New Mexico, and one from England. THINGS TO DO:
Catching buses (only 1 euro to anywhere along the coast) or trains, (a bit dearer but much faster), as far west as St Raphael where I caught a boat to the end of the peninsula to explore St Tropez and as far east as Ventimiglia in Italy (the French train timetable calls it Vintimille).
Great exploring the fascinating old town of VSM itself and the Citadel.
Visited several hilltop villages; at Eze Village, after exploring, we walked from 430 metres above sea level, down the very steep “goat track” to Eze Bord de Mer.
Bussed north to another hilltop village at Falicon.
To St Paul de Vence and walked from St Paul de Vence to the town of Vence itself, about 6 kms.
Explored Monaco one day. Then went back another day to watch all the top tennis players in the world playing in the Masters Series Monte Carlo.
Visited nearby Menton, another beautiful Mediterranean town and saw the Basilica of Saint Michel and the NZ Rugby memorial at the grave of William Webb Ellis.
Visited the beautiful Rothschild Mansion and Gardens at St Jean Cap-Ferrat, we can see them across the bay of VSM from Brendon & Amanda’s apartment with it’s fabulous harbour views. After a silver service afternoon tea we walked the long walk home along the Basse Cornishe via Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
Walked from VSM to explore all over St Jean Cap-Ferrat, had a fabulous lunch at the exclusive Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat, by the swimming pool on the point overlooking the Med.
Visited the Fragonard Perfume production at Grasse, explored that lovely city, then walked down the very long walk to the bus depot, practised my French chatting with a young lad on his way down.
Caught the train to Cannes, walking around to find all of the 12 beautiful murals up on the buildings in the city.
From Cannes I also caught a ferry out to Ile Ste-Marguerite exploring, then my train back home only went as far as Nice Riquier, so enjoyed the 1 ½ hour walk back along the Mediterranean seaside to VSM.
Visited the wonderful city of Nice several times, so easy to walk all around there too.
During our three sunny weeks there we enjoyed the many city and village markets everywhere and all the amazing churches, museums and centuries old architecture, and a symphony concert. Thankyou so much Amanda and Brendon
