This charming stone cottage is quietly situated in the grounds of the owner's house close to the picturesque village of Valbonne. A spacious patio separates the cottage from the main house. The entrance of the cottage leads directly into a most attractive, high ceiling, open-plan sitting/dining area with interesting decorative touches and a well equipped kitchen. French doors lead from the sitting area to a private area of lawn with garden furniture. There are automatic entry gates and ample parking space inside the grounds. The cottage is a ideal property for a family of 4 with a double bedroom leading to a private patio and a children's room with bunk beds. The spacious grounds are attractive and include a trampoline, table tennis, swings, a boule pitch and a pool with steps surrounded with palm trees and flowers. The cottage is approximately 2 kilometres from the beautiful and lively village of Valbonne with it's 17th century square full of restaurants, excellent shops with local produce and supermarkets. Within 15 minutes there is a choice of going to the beaches of Cannes and Antibes/Juan Les Pins or going to the famous perfume factories of Grasse or the historical, hilltop villages of Vence, Tourrettes or Gourdon. The fashionable Mediterranean resorts of Monaco and St Tropez make a good choice for day trips and the colourful, historical inland villages of the riviera are also within easy driving distance. Nice, the major city in the area with its international airport and motorail terminal, is 20 minutes away. There are many top quality golf courses in the vicinity and the area is also renowned for hang gliding, horse riding and walking.

Things to do nearby: If you have children, the best day out would be to Marineland, the best aquapark in Europe. Their killer whale and dolphin shows are on a par with Sea World in Florida. There is also a children's farm, funfair and crazy golf in the same complex which is 10 minutes away. If you wish to see more cultural things then head to St Paul de Vence with its art galleries and museums or to Antibes for the Picasso Museum. If walking is your thing, go from the house into the Valmasque National Park where you can walk for miles. Bring your golf clubs if you want a game as there are some of the best courses within 10 minutes of Valbonne.

Had a great holiday - wonderful cottage - kids loved the pool (Lucy learned to swim properly!), the swings, the table tennis, and especially Teddy and Boss! [the owner's cat and dog]. Ali Evans Kippen Scotland.

The best recommendation we can make is that we have already booked for next year. The property is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We were made very welcome as were our family who live locally. Valbonne is 2 minutes away with a large range of eating places and is a lovely small town.
