Limonerie

We have holidayed often in Cannes in apartments with large terraces and sea views. Limonerie is a small apartment witha very small "terrace" outside the front door that is shared with the other apartment.
The apartment is well appointed with air conditioning and satellite TV (Sky). It was clean and the bedding and towels were plentiful. The lady who cleans and looks after the keys was very friendly and helpful - she speaks English and French.
Mougins has plenty of good restaurants with reasonable prices and the small shop next door to the apartment has a good range of produce. The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful, but only speak French.
Mougins is a good centre for exploring the Riviera, It is accessible and the old village where the apartment is situated is full of character with ateliers, cafés and great views towards Cannes.
It is worth noting that there are a couple of "challenges" in getting to the apartment and getting around in the apartment.
Arriving late one has to carry everything from the car to the apartment - non-resident traffic is only allowed into the village up to 11am.
The staicase to the bedroom is steep and open and would not suit anyone who has a problem getting around. And the steps leading to the front door are also steep.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Limonerie to a couple who want to experience life in a typical old French hilltop village.
Some command of the French language is definitely an advantage; while some restaurants understand and speak English, most permanent residents do not.
Although there is public transport, it is best to have a car to get around. Parking is easy in all the surrounding towns and villages and you are more flexible with your own transport.
Owner's Response: It is correct that due to the steps & stairs in this old "maison village" the property does not suit anyone with problems getting around, or very young children. However the views & authentic Provencal style are superb for younger or middle aged couples. The free parking at the edge of the village is about 150 metres from the property so bags have to be carried this far at the beginning & end of the stay, normally no problem with "wheelie" cases.
