La Rivolte is a magnificent 19th century mansion in Grasse, known as the world capital of perfume, on the Cote d'Azur. The villa is set in 2 hectares of terraced Mediterranean gardens with a jade green heated swimming pool, sea views, olives, palms, pines and fruit trees and stunning panoramic views. There are 8 provencal bedrooms, (7 in the house and the 8th bedroom in an annex in the garden), 2 salons, one a library and one with satellite TV, VCR, X-Box, DVD player and piano and a large selection of videos and DVDs. The large well-equipped kitchen/dining room has an open fireplace. The house and large terrace overlook the bay of Cannes and the Esterel. La Rivolte is an excellent base from which to explore the Côte d'Azur. FEATURED IN CONDE NAST TRAVELLER MAGAZINE, JULY 2005 and also Provence Cookery Book. From the villa, it is just a short walk to the town centre and all local amenities. Grasse is situated in the South of France on the border of the Côte d'Azur and Provence at the foothills of the Alps and has stunning panoramic views over the Bay of Cannes and the Cap de l'Esterel. It is an excellent base from which to explore the Côte d'Azur and is just 30 minutes from Nice airport. Nice, Cannes, St. Paul de Vence and Antibes are just a short drive away and St. Tropez and Monaco are about an hour's drive. The spectacular Gorges du Verdon are 2 hours away by car.

Notes: La Rivolte can be rented as a whole during the summer, but out of season, normally from September to June, we operate as a Bed & Breakfast. We now have a heated swimming pool - this will be heated from 1st April to 15th May and again from 15th September to the end of October each year (heating not needed during summer months). For guests wishing to have the pool heated before April and after October, there will be a 100 Euro supplementary charge per week's rental. Please contact us for further details and our website address. Please note that we are unable to accept bookings for weddings or large parties as the villa is situated in a quiet residential area. Activities: There are numerous activities which can be enjoyed close to La Rivolte. We are half an hour away from the nearest ski resort - Gréolières and there are 3 more excellent ski-resorts, Val d'Allos, Isola 2000 and Auron just an hour and a half away. There are several excellent golf courses all within a half hour's drive of Grasse. There are many well-known hiking routes and paragliding is also a popular local sport. Sail boats can be hired from nearby Cannes and there are all the other popular watersports, e.g., water-skiing, windsurfing, parascending, jetskis, etc. For children, there is the excellent Oceanographic museum at Monaco, the Florian sweet factory at Pont sur Loup, and Antibes Land which has a water park, aquarium and farm. There is also go-karting nearby and a glass-bottom boat goes out from Juan les Pins around the exclusive Cap d'Antibes.

Bed & Breakfast: The villa is available to rent at any time of the year, but when La Rivolte is not rented as a whole (usually off season from September to May), we welcome guests on a bed and breakfast basis. This is very popular and continental breakfast is served in the large kitchen or out on the large terrace where guests can enjoy the fantastic sea views. The pool is heated from April to November.

Massage and reflexology: We can offer both massage and reflexology to our guests in the comfort of the villa. Other services available include manicures, pedicures, facials (including galvanic) and Indian head massage.

'Our stay here was perfect! The hospitality, yummy breakfasts, refreshing swimming pool and breathtaking views were more than we could imagine. We enjoyed meeeting couples from all over Europe and sharing stories at breakfast. Watching the World Cup match on the terrace with all the other guests was most fun! We will miss La Rivolte but hope to return soon to enjoy this idyllic place again. Cathy & Jon were outstanding hosts and only added more pleasure to our stay.'

This is the perfect property for a Family gatherings - one of the few that not only sleeps 16 but also seats 16 ! The rooms were attractive and clean. The kitchen was perfectly equipped. The garden was great for children to explore and adults to find a quiet corner. The location was ideal - we could walk to shops, bars and restaurants but felt secluded enough when we wanted. The Villa manager was brilliant - Cathy was on hand to make suggestions and reservations yet at the sametime did not intrude on our holiday.
I would definately recommend this villa as an ideal holiday location.

Magnificent!!

Myself and my partner were reccommended by a family friend to visit La Rivolte, Grasse. We found the ease of booking and correspondance by the manager of the villa superb, and gave us real confidence as we approached our visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was delightful! We received a warm welcome, and breakfasts on the sunny terrace on a morning with views down the valley to Cannes and Nice are spectacular! This beautiful view framed by the surrounding palms, accompanied by great food, portrays a hidden jewel of the South of France.
We would reccommend L Rivolte to everyone. Grasse itself, provides numerous restaurants, gift shops and fabulous historic scenery, with Cannes and Nice only 30 minutes to 45 minutes away via train. We certainly can't wait to return.
