Things to do with children:
Apart from the swimming pool, there are is a wide range of nearby attractions and places to go with children…
Marineland is a complex just 10 minutes drive away on the road to Antibes. Here you will find... :Aquasplash: A large waterpark with water slides to suit young and old. Marineland: Dolphins and Killer Whales, large aquarium where you walk under the sharks, etc!! MiniGolf: An excellent ‘crazy golf’ course with waterfalls and caves. La Petite Ferme: A big hit for smaller children.
Vaugrenier Park: 10 mins walk from house. There are wooded trails, open fields for sport or picnics, play areas for children, and jogging tracks.
Beaches: Villeneuve Loubet Plage has a fine pebble beach. While you can walk to the beach you do need to drive if carrying heavy items. Paddle boats, etc., are available for rent. There are also beach side restaurants and places to rent beds and umbrellas. The sandy beaches of Antibes, Juan les Pins, and Golf Juan are a short drive away.
Eating out and shopping:
Marina Baie des Anges: The famous Marina has a large number of restaurants where you can dine outside next to the luxury boats or inside. From a casual pizza to a more elaborate French meal, you will find an excellent choice. You can walk (about 10—15 minutes) from the house to the Marina.
Nice: There is a huge variety of restaurants. Just check out any guide book.
Antibes: Just a short drive away (the next town), Antibes offers a wide choice of restaurants as do all other towns in the area. Biot is easy to get to and has a number of outstanding restaurants. Just 5 minutes walk from the house is a new pizzeria— eat in or takeaway. Very convenient.
Supermarkets: The Intermarche is a 5 minute drive and is the closest supermarket. The supermarket in the Marina complex is open on Sunday and is a good choice if the Intermarche is closed.
Monaco is an easy drive on the motorway (30 to 40 minutes) with the old city an excellent choice in the evening as the daytime tourists have gone
Sport and Activity:
Golf:: Villeneuve Loubet Village (about 2 miles from Villeneuve Loubet Plage) has a nice 1756 meter 9 hole course that is ideal for the player who likes the game but is not up to Tiger Woods standard. There are of course many other nearby 18 hole courses that are more challenging.
Tennis: Close to the golf course (on the road to Grasse) is a large tennis club.
Boules: All the nearby villages have places to play boules/petanque. People also play in the park.
Walking/hiking: The Vaugrenier Park is good for walking. For more challenging mountain/hill walking there are plenty of choices in the lower Alps on a days outing.
White water rafting/canoeing: Again a days outing in the foothills of the Alps or at the Georges du Verdun (Europe’s version of the Grand Canyon) will offer plenty of scope here.
Sailing: and Scuba Diving There are numerous sailing clubs and dive centres all along the coast. The local Tourist Office will have details.
Other Activities:
Adventure Park, Marineland, Fun Fairs
