Our family house is very conveniently situated only 30 minutes from the Riviera but has the advantage of peace and tranquillity if one does not wish to be directly on the coast. Nestling in the foothills of the Alpes-maritime and comfortably close to all the gorgeous villages of St Paul de Vence, Gordon, Grasse, Tourettes sur Loup etc, it offers a perfect location for families or groups of friends. Golf, tennis, riding, sailing and all beach sports available close by. If you wish to avoid the busy coast, just stay in the hills and mountains were the world is your oyster in terms of scenery, history, villages, towns and all sorts of dining experiences from basic to gastronomic.

Wonderful relaxing villa!

We had a lovely holiday in this villa, which is tucked away on the side of a wooded hill with views down the valley. Only the sounds of goats and their bells, and the odd bray from donkeys in the field behind the house!
The owner of the property was extremely helpful: he organised a taxi from the airport for some of our party and told us where to stock up with good Rose!
The manageress, who lives next door is a lovely lady who was always on hand to help and advise, but never intrusive.
The villa was well equiped with plenty of room - the pool and summer kitchen area being the best place for long lazy lunches, and the kids spent most of the time swimming.
We found Tennis at Pre du Lac, but 10 euros a time. The best beach was at Theoule sur Mer (Western Cannes bay). Lots of great restaurants everywhere - Tourettes sur Loup is worth seeing and spending an evening, as is St Paul de Vence, although it is a 40 min drive (beautiful scenery so worth it).
I would definately recommend this villa - great location (we didn't find the narrow road a problem) and value for money.

Property difficult to find along a unpleasant road. If you have a low car be very careful as the driveway to the property will catch under the car every time. Reasonable size property (there were 3 of us in our party), but in desperate need of new kitchen and bathrooms - both very tired but have been advised these will be changed at the end of the 2009 season. No grassed area but good pool and outside facilities. Property is some distance from the village so make sure you stock up on provisions as it really is not a nice walk to the village as no paths so walking on the road. Although the access road to the property is awful, once you are on the main roads (about 1km) the area is stunning and easy access to Cannes, Nice, Monaco etc., so I have to say the property is in a fantastic location. Essential to have a car at the property. My biggest issue is that the owners leave lots of their own food in the fridge and cupboards and don't leave much space for those staying which we felt uncomfortable about but that is just our opinion. There is so much to do around this area of France for all ages, we ate out alot, and there is an extraordinary choice to suit anyone but we did not eat in the villages nearby so cannot advise on the immediate area.
Owner's Response: Value for money, our Villa represents one of best properties in the area with 5 bedrooms and being able to sleep up to 9. 5star plus accommodation is also available in the area at up to 2-3 times our rental rates. Our advert describes exactly what our villa is like with no surprises.
There is a brand new fully fitted summer kitchen where most people prefer to eat Al Fresco. The indoor kitchen is fully functional.The oven and hob are due to be updated in Autumn 2009. The downstairs bathroom was redecorated this spring 2009 using Farrow and Ball paint.The fittings throughout the house ,although not necessarily this years models ,are all in perfect working order.
The single track road with passing places is absolutely typical for this part of France and indeed for all rural areas. We have many guests who do walk to both nearby villages about 20-25 mins uphill and indeed this is what these particular guests where told when they asked before the rental. The entrance to our villa is steep but this is the first and only time it has been mentioned and is certainly not a problem for our Renault Estate.
As far as leaving food in the cupboards, this is not done by the owners, as the property is always fully let in the summer months and is only dried and nonperishable goods left for the convenience of arriving guests who might not have had time to stock up !!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are indeed many restaurants in the nearest surrounding villages ranging from basic to Michelin quality as well as further afield.
Any problems that occur are dealt with on site by our local manageress who lives next door.
I always encourage prospective or returning guests to ask any questions they may have before booking and will always give a frank and honest answer. Indeed this is what occurred on this occasion.

Having just returned from France, I felt I had to write immediately in reference to this Villa. The villa is so peaceful, expertly equipped, (we hosted my eldest daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at the villa and I was not looking forward to cooking in a strange kitchen, but there was everything and more available)
The summer kitchen is an absolute bonus!!
The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and the beds extremely comfortable.
The lady who looks after the property is an absolute delight and was extremely helpful. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this property.
