The villa was designed by the famous architect Andre Svetchine and features his signature such as the rare old terracotta floors throughout, antique fireplaces and glazed lava tiled bathrooms. Nestled into the hill above the picturesque village of St. Jean, assures the stunning panoramic eastward sea-views from all rooms. The living room has a working antique stone fireplace, a dining table and accesses both the breakfast terrace of the master bedroom as well as the pool area. The loggia area offers a fireplace, both for ambiance and/or cooking, a table with seating for 12 and large panoramic windows that slide into the wall opening onto the exceptional 180 degree view of the village, St. Hospice and the sea with Italy in the background. The beautiful village of St. Jean is located on the prestigious pine tree covered peninsula of St. Jean Cap Ferrat, The village is nestled around its charming port and offers numerous shops, restaurants and cafes. The beaches are all well kept and some offer beach club/restaurant facilities with a variety of watersports. Four beaches are only a 5 min walk from the villa. There are many walks around the peninsula with stunning views onto Beaulieu, Cap d'Ail, Italy or Cap d'Antibes and Nice. From St. Jean one can easily explore the region along the coast or up to the mountains. The closest ski resorts are only 1 1/2 hours drive away. The large city of Nice with all its attractions, beaches and shops is only 15 minutes away and on the other side Monaco/Monte Carlo glitters with its Casinos, Luxury hotels and gourmet restaurants. Italy is just a short train ride or drive away and attracts with its picturesque market and variety of food.

Notes to the rental rates

A surcharge may apply for the following periods: Christmas, Easter and the Monaco Grand Prix. Please enquire when you book. July and August are rented for a minimum of two weeks

A 25 % deposit is required to confirm the reservation. The full amount is due 60 days before arrival as well as a security deposit of 1000 Euros per week, which will be reimbursed quickly at the end of the stay. All amounts will be refunded if reservation is cancelled and the property can be let again for the same period and same amount. Major credit cards welcome. A final cleaning and laundry charge of 150 Euros (for occupancy of up to 8 people) will be deducted from the security deposit together with telephone consumption, utility charges and any breakages/damages.

The renter should be fully insured for personal injury, theft etc. The owner refuses all responsibility for recourse that an insurance company may exercise against the owner in the case of an accident. Arrival is after 4pm and departure before 10 am on change-over days.

| Notes: | The master bedroom opens onto a 'breakfast terrace', has a TV, DVD, English SKY and ADSL access, en suite bathroom has double sinks and separate toilet. 2nd bedroom's double French doors open onto the garden, has a TV, DVD, an en suite shower room with large walk-in tiled shower, toilet, bidet, double sinks and a sea view. 3rd bedroom's bathroom features sink, bath, bidet and toilet. 4th bedroom's en suiite shower room has tiled shower, toilet and sink. All rooms are spacious and have plenty of cupboard space. The kitchen is fully fitted and has plenty of white Limoges china, cutlery and variety of glasses. Villa has several levels, therefore steps throughout. There is an extensive library of books and also many DVDs. The pool is beautifully tiled, bean shaped, has a deep end of 2.5 m, has a children's alarm and can be heated. The large terrace has 7 sunbeds and a teak table for 10. The garage has space for 2 cars, more parking is possible. |
Public Transport
Public transport is very good in the region. The villa is 5 minutes walk from the village, where you can find all daily essentials: 2 very good butchers, 2 bakeries, fishmonger, little supermarket, wine shop, flower shop, newsagent, etc, as well as a multitude of restaurants and cafes. There is a bus to Nice bus terminal from the village almost twice an hour all day long (not at night and not Sundays). From there you can connect to a vast network of regional buses, ie St Paul de Vence, Biot, the mountains behind Nice, La Turbie etc. Beaulieu sur mer is only 20 minutes walk away (or a five minutes bus ride) and from there you can connect to a bus (every ten minutes) to Monaco/Monte Carlo. Beaulieu also has a train station with several trains an hour to Monaco or on to Italy, and the other way to Nice, Cannes or Antibes. There are several taxi companies available in the village. There are two car rental agencies in Beaulieu where you can rent on short notice a car for any lenght of time.
Water sports & beaches
There are many brokers locally who offer boats (sailing or motor) for rent, daily and long term, with or without skipper. Several places offer watersports such a water-skiing, wake boarding, pedalos, kite surfing or fun trips for children on plastic floaters. Paloma beach (offering sun-bed rentals, full restaurant service, shower, changing rooms, water ski, wakeboading, windsurfing etc), the central village beach, 'Les Fossettes' beach and 'Les Fosses' beach are all only a 5 minutes walk away. 'Plage Passable' on the west facing side of the peninsula with great views at sunset with sun-bed rental and full restaurant service is 15 minute walk away. The beaches of Beaulieu sur Mer and Villefranche are a 5 minute drive away.
Walking - Hiking and Culture - Museums
There are many walks on and around the peninsula, for example around the little cap of St. Hospice, approx 45 minutes or al the way around the Cap Ferrat, approx 1.5 hours. The walk to Beaulieu sur is approx 20 minutes.The area on the coast behind Cap Ferrat is immediately quite mountainous and there are many trails which can be explored or hikes to be done with guides, both in summer and winter season. There are several local museums in St. Jean (Villa Ephrussi Rothschild and Vila Kerylos, Museum of sea shells) and the area offers a large amount and variety of other cultural institutions larges based on the rich cultural heritage of the area (Nice: Museum of Modern Art, Matisse Museum, Chagall Museum; St. Paul de Vence: Fondation Maeght; Antibes: Picasso Museum; various Chapels with murals from Cocteau; many seasonal art exhibitions and festivals. The local tourist office has up to date information on all of this. There is also a Zoo on Cap Ferrat.
Skiing Information:
There are a number of good ski resort located close enough for a day trip. For example Isola 2000 and Auron in France or Limone in Italy. All can be reached by car - approx 1 1/2 hours drive or by public transport. There is also a large variety of accommodation in these resorts and it can be booked over the internet.
Golf Information:
The golf clubs of Monaco, Opio, Mougins and Cannes all welcome visitors and are only a short drive away.
