Lovely Provencal style villa overlooking the Bay of Villefranche and the Cape Ferrat. « Tethys » detached Provençal villa, named after the Queen of the sea in the Greek mythology, is a charming property of 120 m2 living surface, in a 600 m2 terraced garden, and forested area (Pine trees) on the hills over the village of Villefranche sur mer. The unbelievable panoramic SE facing view to the sea from the pool and the terraces is breathtaking! A similar stunning view is offered from the bed-rooms and terraces.The villa, recently restored (new modern kitchen, new outside aspect with green shutters), well equipped with a lot of facilities and nice furniture, is comfortable. There are 2 independent levels and 3 bedrooms. That comprise 2 extra-large (160), 1 large (140), 1 single (90) beds for a maximum of 7 adults. In addition a very small independent bedroom with 1 two-level bed can be used for young children.

A 25 % deposit is required to confirm the reservation, 50% of the amount is due 30 days before arrival as well as a cheque security deposit of 1000 Euros per week, and the remainder is payable on arrival. Initial payments can be made by credit card and the remainder by cheque. The security deposit cheque will not be cashed but refunded on checkout at the end of the stay with a minoration in case of breakage/damage.
  • The renter should be fully insured for personal injury, theft etc. The owner refuses all responsibility for recourse that an insurance company may exercise against the owner in the case of an accident.

Location and transport: General location: The village of Villefranche Sur Mer is situated between Monaco and Nice within the bay of Villefranche/ Cape Ferrat, which is considered as one of the most beautiful landscape in the world. The villa is located in the hills, at low elevation (only 120 m above sea-level.) Public Transport: there is a bus to Nice bus terminal from the village almost twice an hour all day long (n°81 and 100). From there you can connect to the network of regional buses, ie Cannes, St Paul de Vence, the mountains behind Nice where there are many trails and activities to be done. You can also easily visit Monaco/ Monte Carlo and reach the Italy border by bus or train. In winter time skiing is available in the ski stations of Auron and Isola 2000 by car or by bus (1 and a half hour). Within Villefranche there is a small shuttle (n°80) bus from the sea side to the Villefranche pass, with a stop near by the villa.

Local activities: The old town, sea side and harbour at are walking distance (1/1,5km by car). Skiing in Winter is 1 and half hours away by car or public transport (Auron, Isola2000, Valberg). Monaco and Italy are at short train or drive away distance. There is plenty to enjoy whatever your taste. The area comprises a lot of museums to be visited (Matisse, Chagall, chapelle Cocteau), the villa and gardens of Ephrussi de Rothschild in St Jean cap ferrat and many seasonal Festivals and art exhibitions are organised (Menton music Festival ect..).

Ski: Ski is quite possible in the Southern Alps ( Mercantour or Argentera) Massif at rather short distance: only 90 minutes by car.

Golf: Many Golf sites exist in the area.

A fabulous location and a beautiful property: well maintained and extremely comfortable. The views across the bay are not done justice with mere photographs and the owners could not have been more pleasant and helpful both before and after the visit. I have no hesitation recommending this property to any extended family party or groups of couples looking to relax, see Nice, Monaco, cruise the Corniche and live life as it should be.
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

The discription of the property did not dissapoint. The property was very well equipted, comfortable, clean and well maintained. Plenty of outside space with 3 terraces and wonderfull views from the pool area. Well situated for restaurants, bars and shops, we would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return ourselves.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Six of us stayed in this beautiful villa and loved every moment. The views are incredible, the pool lovely and the bbq and outside dining area brilliant. The walk to / from the water front is surprisingly easy too! Great value.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Rollo and his friends were very pleasant guests. I appreciate the positive comments on the villa. Recently, improvements have been made concerning the outside aspect and the kitchen has been totally renewed. Taking into account the different reviews I plan to make the property more and more confortable and pleasant for future renters

This is a beautiful property and it had breathtaking views over the bay at Villefranche. We spend some lovely time here with the family watching the cruise ships come and go.

The property is well maintained and very homely and comfortable. The pool is screened off and safe for children under supervision. Do be aware that there are a lot of steps to reach the house, but it is worth the excercise.

The owner was very helpful and accomodating and we would definitely consider booking the property again.

The property is located a short drive from the old town of Villefranche, or a 15 minute walk ( lots of steps on the way back up) for the energetic. For the less energetic, there is a regular bus service from the old town to the road where the house is located. In the old town you will find a charming harbour with lovely restaurants and a pleasant beach. The tables by the harbour are a good place to spot celebreties over a glass of white wine....

I intend to improve the quality of the villa by renewing the kitchen, the outside furniture ect and to get some more degrees for the temperature of the pool in spring time! Sorry for the steps! I know...it is difficult to avoid them in Villefranche sur mer. But the view is fantastic.
