Walking the streets of Vidauban is an unforgettable experience. St Brigitte’s Chapel stands prominently at the summit of a rocky crag, and the strains of the short walk up to the top are immediately forgotten when you see the stunning views right across the Maures Plain, the vast forests of oak and pine and the stunning Aille Waterfalls. On Sundays, the whole town comes to life as the Sunday market rolls into town. Not only is the market a great place to stock up on local delicacies, it is also a highly social affair, with the pavement cafes and little restaurants which surround the market doing a roaring trade.

There is nothing finer than taking a kayak or canoe down the River Argens from a Vidauban property rental. The river runs right through the village, and during the summer, you can hire boats of all variety, climb to the entry point beside the stadium and plunge down the channel for over 6km, taking in the finest sights of the area from an entirely new and refreshing point of view.
