Villa, named Lei Osselous (Provencal for Little Birds) offers a ground floor apartment standing in a large romantic garden with shaded patio, boules pitch, under palm trees. Paths meander round the whole secluded large garden with views to the sea and to the west, hills. Just 400 m from the sea. It is a spacious, modern, self-contained two bedroomed apartment with a private entrance and is available for renting throughout the year. Les Issambres is a charming little village with both sandy and rocky coves, ideal for families. In the gulf of St Tropez between St Maxime and St Raphael. We benefit with having a Thalasso Therapy centre offering sea water treatments. This includes sea water pools, one is warm, in the spirit of the Roman baths. All kind of massages and treatments are offered for Male and Females, at reasonable prices and a 10% discount can be obtained. If you prefer the sea water pool to the beach, 15€ per half day followed by a romantic meal can be very de-stressing!

San Peire is the coastal village of Les Issambres only 5 mins by foot to the beach and shops,situated 50 mins., from Nice Airport. Les Issambres is within easy reach of other resorts, Cannes 40 mins., Monaco 75 mins and San Remo 90 mins. The village has a marina with the ferry taking you to St. Tropez plus other excursions by sea, which saves you the driving. To the west you have St Maxime which is a very lively town and to the east you have Frejus an ancient Roman town full of Roman ruins and Traditional Provencal crafts and markets, followed by the sea side town of St Raphael. The local market is on Mondays which is useful for your self catering. 15 restaurants plus 3 beach restaurants to choose from for those lazy days. Also a small supermarket, Cafes, 2 bakers, 2 banks and cash machines. 11 of the restaurants are all within walking distance. Aqualand, two water parks are 15 mins drive away for the young at heart. There is a walking group each week in English or French.

Notes:

The apartment faces East/South/West and is very light and airy. The double sliding doors open onto the terrace for meals outside, with sunshades. The dining area is in the large kitchen which over looks the vegetable garden and orange trees. The garden which has a good selection of mature trees including two Palm trees, has a seating area and a boules pitch with views to the sea and rolling hills to the west where you can take a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

Local surroundings

The villa is situated between Frejus and St. Maxime in the village of San Peire in the commune of Les Issambres. The villa is in a residential area yet only 5 minutes walk down to the village centre and beach. The villa faces South and West and has views across the bay to St. Tropez and the sandy beach of La Nartelle. The auto route is about 20 minutes away which gives access to Aix en Provence to the west and Nice and Monaco to the east and to the north are the Gorges of Verdon (the grand canyon of Europe) and Grasse the perfume centre. 9 kms from the villa is the Roman town Frejus with its ruins and amphitheatre. The Cathedral with a 5th century Baptistery and Cloister, built on the site of the ancient city founded by Julius Caesar in 49 BC. And for the young at heart is Aqualand with many flumes and go-carting. In the opposite direction, 6 km, is the town of St. Maxime which is very lively with street entertainment at night and numerous restaurants plus concerts most of the year.

Garden Apartment of lovely Villa, near beach

This attractive self-contained garden apartment was built in 1964 and benefits from a good selection of mature trees which give some welcome shade from the hot sun. The villa is in a quiet residential area with ample parking in the grounds of the villa and electric operated gates for security. The apartment has it's own private entrance and has been redecorated and completely refurnished in 2006. The living room has sliding doors on to the south/west covered patio with bougainvillea over the kitchen door. There is a quiet sitting area, accessed by four steps to the boules area under two large palm trees with views across the bay, the perfect place to read a good book. The village is only 5 mins walk with a small Casino Supermarket, Cafes, 2 Bakers, two Banks and cash machines. Also a Butchers, Fish shop, Paper and Souvenir shop. A Doctors and Post Office The Marina offers diving, sailing and skiing facilities. There are Tennis courts, 9 hole Golf course nearby, with a restaurant.

Activities

The Port of San Peire has all the water sports you would wish, sailing, wind sailing, jet ski, boat rentals, scuba diving, water skiing plus the ferry to take you to the other ports like St Maxime, Port Grimaud and St. Tropez or excursions to the Bay of Canoubiers near St Tropez, with its famous celebrity houses. Issambres has it's own tennis club where courts and rackets can be hired. Across from the port is Les Thermes Marins des Issambres, Thalassotherapy, which offers sea water fitness centre and spa, gym, massage, Turkish baths, pools and sun room. Back from the coast in the ancient village of Roquebrune sur Argens guided tours of the village are given in English every week. On the way to Roquebrune is a 9 hole Golf course and a beautiful club house and restaurant which is open all the year round. Walking and hiking-trekking groups, open all year round also Archery. There is an Art exhibition room which changes its exhibits every week. The nearest train station is St. Raphael

The location of your house is ideal for anyone, like us, who wants to be close to a beach but away from the the noise and activity associated with a busy resort. It would be great to come back again and see how the garden has changed and develops with all the work you have planned to do.

This location is ideal, quiet, close to the beach and handy for visiting both East and West neighbouring villages. The apartment is spacious and well equipped providing everything we needed, fantastic!
