A beautifully restored and newly refurbished oak beamed apartment, on the upper floors of a traditional, medieval, Provencial town house in the heart of La Garde Freinet. Renovated to retain a wealth of original features, it has spacious accommodation, a newly refurbished, well equipped, kitchen with all mod cons (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge freezer). The dining area has seating for 6. The separate sitting room enjoys wonderful views over the Maures Mountains and the village itself. The sitting room leads to a roof terrace, which has a south facing aspect and stunning views, ideal for outdoor dining, all year round. The two large bedrooms both have ensuite facilities. Fast free Internet access and sat tv are also included. La Garde Freinet has a wide range of shops, for everyday needs and excellent restaurants. Market day is twice a week. The popular village pool is open in the high season. Fabulous sandy beaches are found nearby.

La Garde Freinet is a beautiful medieval village with wonderful views. It is nestled in the heart of the Maures Mountains, far enough from the coast to escape the crowds but less than 15km from the beaches, Saint Tropez and the auto route. La Garde Freinet is a traditional Provencal village, with excellent restaurants, good shops, clean popular village pool, internet access and a market which comes twice a week. The village has a year round local population which ensures an authentic ‘French feel’. We think it is perfect!

Notes: Whilst children are welcome, the accommodation is not suited to children under the age of 5. We would also request that if clients wish to smoke they do not do so inside the appartment. The roof terrace is south facing and is sunny all day. Sunloungers, chairs, table and umbrella are all provided on the terrace. We have equipped the apartment to a very good standard as we use the apartment a lot ourselves. We have recently installed fast free internet access and satellite TV. We also have DVD and video players with lots of good dvds and videos. We do have a website which gives more details. Please contact us for further information.

Sport and activities: Apart from the lovely walks and stunning beaches, there are activities for all ages, either in the village or within easy reach. There are numerous excellent golf courses and tennis courts. Every water sport imaginable is available at the coast. The French game of Boules can be played in all the towns and villages. Sainte Maxime, just 20 minutes away, has recently opened a water theme park and there is another one in Frejus. Locally there is horse-riding, cycling, basketball or volleyball. The excellent village pool is 2 minutes walk away and is open throughout the summer months. Our own secluded sun terrace is a perfect haven for book-worms and sun worshippers.

Travel and getting about: Fantastic low cost flight bargains are available to reach Nice, Toulon, Nimes and Marseilles airports. Car hire is available at the airports. (A car is needed if you want to explore the area). The village is reached by roads winding through vineyards, olive groves and cork oak forests and is less than 20km from the autoroute.

Other attractions: There are a wealth of attractions within easy reach of La Garde Freinet. The area is full of excellent winaries. North of the village is 'Les Gorges du Verdon' offering spectacular views, walks, canoeing, canyoning and white water rafting. Cultural festivals are held throughout the year, with many in the village itself. Great shopping opportunities are available in the towns, such as Nice, St Tropez and Aix en Provence. The apartment is perfectly located to explore the area.

A lovely apartment, a great village, a beautiful area, loads to do - we will definitely be back!

We found the apartment to be superb, extremely clean with all the facilities we needed.

There is no shortage of wonderful beaches in the area.

We had a really lovely time in your charming home.

Not a bad meal to be had.

Wonderful break, French village charming and historically interesting.

The restaurants are very good, especially the two by the bandstand.

Excellent accommodation, excellent weather, a perfect holiday.

The electric boat trip around Port Grimaud was very enjoyable.

We had a wonderful holiday in this lovely, spacious apartment. The property was beautifully presented and the photos did not do it justice. We especially loved the roof terrace.
La Garde Freinet had everything we were looking for in Provence (sunshine, atmosphere, restaurants, close to beaches, etc) and we enjoyed very much our holiday there.
We were very impressed with all our dealings with the owner.
