Draguignan is the regional capital of the department of the Var with a population of 30,000 and so with many restaurants and shops and a provençal market every morning. Horse-riding and tennis courts are within 5 minutes’ drive and the St Andréol golf course is about 15 minutes by car. Lovely avenues lined with plane trees surround the old city which has ancient houses with sculptured doors and impressive portals. There are several old squares each with its own history including Place aux Herbes, Place de l' Oberservance and Place du Cros. The Tour de l'Horloge, the market place, the ancient chapels and the St. Michel Church should all be seen. Draguignan has several interesting museums - in particular the Musée des Arts et Traditions Provençales which has an extensive exhibition of traditional crafts and materials. In summer there are many evenings of free musical entertainment and various festivals - Draguifolies and the olive fair.

The grounds include a feature built-in barbecue, extensive garden and pool furniture, table tennis, a pétanque court, small football field, badminton and basketball playgrounds. The really exceptional swimming pool measures 16m x 7m with outside shower and extensive poolside terraces with sun lounger’s and parasols.
