Domaine Bellevue is a delightful old Provencal 'Mas' entirely renovated & situated on a private estate of 25 acres. Facing south, surrounded by forests, olive-trees and overlooking its own vineyard. Ideal for a quiet and peaceful holiday. To the front, on lower terrace is a large tropical style pool 14.5x6,metres 1.8 mts deep, shallow end for children. Alarm systems. In the front of the house is a wide stone terrace shaded by two old plane trees. Fixed BBQ. Plenty of relaxing garden furniture. Swing for children. Ping-Pong. Large bar-room, fridges, piano, seperate access from terrace. Owners look after the property, garden, & pools and occupy a studio and 'cabanon' at the rear with separate pool. They have been renting 'Belle Vue' for more than 25 years. Clients, & many repeat clients, are reassured by the fact that they are on the premises and to look after their every need. Clients & kids, who like domestic animals, preferred. Clients pets are very welcome. Smokers are not banned.

  • Important Note.Due to the financial crisis. For August & September 2009 We have decided to lower our prices by €uros 300.Per Week. Take advantage & book now. During the low season periods, i.e April & May and late September to mid-October. For bookings, when clients number less than the maximum the house sleeps, price reductions can be discussed. For all bookings a 25% deposit is required. The remainder should be paid at least six weeks prior to the start of the booking date. For reservations made less than six weeks before the commencing date special arrangements can be made.
  • Prices are quoted in €uros, however payments can be accepted in other currency's at the current rate of exchange. Please note that all reservations start & terminate on Sundays. Clients are requested not to arrive before 5.pm on the Sunday (unless previous arrangements have been made) and to vacate the property by 10.00 am on the Sunday morning. To facilitate cleaning. You are strongly advised to take out your own cancellation insurance as neither deposits or full payments are refunded.
  • A morning's cleaning once per week is included. If required additional cleaning can be provided and paid for by the clients to the cleaning lady. Baby sitting can also be arranged.

Notes: There are three main bedrooms. Master bedroom is completely self-contained, dbl bed sep mattresses. Bathroom en-suite. Sunken bath, sep shower unit. WC. Bedroom 2 dbl beds sep mattresses & an additional double sofa-bed. Bedroom 3 Small dbl bed, plus super imposed single bed. Shared bathroom with bedroom 2. (bath, hand shower & electric WC. Cots available for all three bedrooms. Seperate WC on landing. One extra portable bed available. All linen included including towels. One morning cleaning included per week. Extra cleaning available. Children welcome. Both pools have alarm systems to be activated by parents. Children's safety is responsibility of parents. Although owners live on premises clients privacy is highly respected. Sunbathing around pool and terrace is very secluded. Provided clients do not feed our animals from the BBQ they remain discreetly at the rear of the property with us. Animals: It is important to note that we have a number of dogs and cats. These pets get on well with visitors, and stay close to our residence at the rear of the house, provided they are not tempted with tid-bits from the clients barbecue. This is why we prefer clients who are animal lovers. In addition clients pets are very welcome. The owners have lived and worked in Provence for nearly thirty years. Douglas was the Var correspondent of Riviera Radio in Monaco for ten years. He has studied Provence in depth, the history, the culture, and the fascinating gastronomy of the region. One can learn a great deal about Provence from the owners, what to see, where to go, depending upon your interests. By arrangement in advance lunches or dinners can be prepared and cooked for clients using local ingredients. One specialty is 'paella', which is not a dish of Provence. But popular nonetheless. A local , who is an excellent cook, can prepare a 'Paella' or 'Cous-Cous' on the terrace.

During the winter months we offer bed7breakfast (reasonable rates on request). From late November to mid February 'Truffle' hunting can be arranged. And also attendance to the 'truffle' auction in the village of Aups each Thursday morning followed by lunch. If required. Douglas has a special rapport with a number of well known local 'Trufficulteurs' and you can purchase the 'Black Diamonds' at advantageous prices. Note the very best truffles are to be found well after Christmas, when they are at their ripest and full of flavour.

Having just been lucky enough to return from two weeks , we can vouch for the hospitality and friendliness of the owners who live discretely at the rear of the villa and the quaintness and quirkyness of the villa itself (you have to see the top bedroom!). The pool is excellent and Douglas and Jenny are very knowledgeable on the local area and have a number of useful local contacts. They have numerous animals which entertained the children and nothing was too much trouble for them- one day we hope to return!
