Animals:
It is important to note that we have a number of dogs and cats. These pets get on well with visitors, and stay close to our residence at the rear of the house, provided they are not tempted with tid-bits from the clients barbecue. This is why we prefer clients who are animal lovers. In addition clients pets are very welcome.
The owners have lived and worked in Provence for nearly thirty years. Douglas was the Var correspondent of Riviera Radio in Monaco for ten years. He has studied Provence in depth, the history, the culture, and the fascinating gastronomy of the region. One can learn a great deal about Provence from the owners, what to see, where to go, depending upon your interests. By arrangement in advance lunches or dinners can be prepared and cooked for clients using local ingredients. One specialty is 'paella', which is not a dish of Provence. But popular nonetheless. A local , who is an excellent cook, can prepare a 'Paella' or 'Cous-Cous' on the terrace.
During the winter months we offer bed7breakfast (reasonable rates on request). From late November to mid February 'Truffle' hunting can be arranged. And also attendance to the 'truffle' auction in the village of Aups each Thursday morning followed by lunch. If required. Douglas has a special rapport with a number of well known local 'Trufficulteurs' and you can purchase the 'Black Diamonds' at advantageous prices. Note the very best truffles are to be found well after Christmas, when they are at their ripest and full of flavour.
