The gite is situated in a rural area of Provence with pine covered hills, vineyards and olive groves near the medieval village of Le Val which has bakery and restaurants, and close to charming old Cotignac with many more restaurants and markets. There are many other picturesque villages with markets close by. Its central location in rural Provence , 4 miles from the motorway, makes it ideal for visiting both the coast and the haute Provence. The gite is attached to the English owner's villa and is completely self contained with private garden and shady trees. There is a secure parking place next to the gite. In addition there is a large garden and a 33ft x 16ft swimming pool (sometimes used by the owners). The gite is well equipped and has one double bedroom. 2 more people can be accommodated on the full sized bed settee in the living area. The pool is surrounded by a terrace with plenty of pool side furniture. There is also a boules pitch to enjoy this popular French game.

The gite is situated in rural Provence, five minutes from the medieval village of Le Val, with bakers, small shops and restaurants. 10 minutes away is the town of Brignoles with larger shops and supermarkets. There are lovely walks from the gite in the hills opposite, and nearby vineyards to taste the local wine. The gite is centrally situated, and only 4m from the motorway junction, making it ideal for visiting other areas of Provence, such as the coastal resorts including St.Maxime, San Tropez, Le Lavandou, Hyeres and the Ile de Porquerolles, and also Haute-Provence and the Parc Natural Regional du Verdon, the beautiful Lac de Ste-Croix and the spectacular Grand Canyon du Verdon. All these areas can be reached within an hour or less. There are many picturesque villages close by, with colourful markets and good restaurants. The charming city of Aix-en-Provence is a 40 minutes drive. The Carmague, Les Baux de Provence and St Remy de Provence can be reached in 1.5 hours.

Lou Paradis is a wonderful place if you desire peace, the sun and a place to recharge your batteries. We were first attracted by the peaceful tranquil setting away from the crowds of the Riviera. Encompassing all of this is the hospitality of both Bill and Pauline, who are not intrusive but always there to lend a helping hand, whether it be places to go or local wines to taste.
All in all a rewarding and memorable holiday - so much so that we have been for the past 3 years. We highly recommend a stay at Lou Paradis.

BIll and Pauline made our holidays absolutely special. Not only the gite is perfectly mainatined, clean, comfortable, and situated in the best possibe place for sighteseeing, but what is more important the hosts are absolutelly perfect!!! First of all we were surprised by the wellcome pack. Then we received information pack, eliciting all the possibilities of spending time both sightseeing and relaxing / a famous yellow book prepafed by Pauline/. Biil was always ready to give some practical advice of where to go, on which day, how to get there and what is really worth visiting or eating /moules in the bar adviced by Bill were delicious/. Photos on the website do not show the real comfort and the beauty of the gite as well as the cleanliness of the pool. We really felt like home... It is worth adding that our time spent there was so special because of Pauline's friendly smile and Bill's outstanding sence of humour. We are definilely going to be back there...

This is a wonderful peaceful place. The hosts Pauline and Bill are genial in every respect, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area but not intrusive. The Gite is set in a peaceful location near an old medieval truly unspoilt village but if you want more you are within easy travelling distance (by car) of the Riviera or the Grand Canyon de Verdon and all that area has to offer (canoes, climbing, walking, etc.). The perfect holiday destination! We have visited at least 4 times and are set to return in 2009.
