Garden and pool:
The front garden is surrounded by a high hedge of evergreens and is very private. There is a large mulberry tree in the middle of the garden, providing shade, and a large stone trough or bassin with its own water supply (but this is not kept full).
The BBQ area is also at the front, beneath a pergola, with some separate seating available.
To the side of the house there is a good-sized field with evergreens on two sides suitable for football or similar activity.
To the rear is the pool with spacious patio surround. The pool measures 12m by 5.5m, and has a depth of 2m at its deepest point. To meet French legal requirements, it is also equipped with an alarm. Beyond the pool there are terraces or restanques bordered by a small forest with a path leading down to the valley of St Jaume with a private road.
Information about communications and safety:
Communications: There is no phone in the house but there is good mobile reception. Lorgues has its own post office with all the usual facilities. There are internet cafés in Draguignan some 30 mins by car from Lorgues.
Safety: There are two wells within the property grounds fitted with a grill and/or door, but young children should be advised not to play close to them. The staircase has a rope handrail and is unsuitable for elderly people. There are several doorways that would be considered low by modern standards. As noted above, the pool is fitted with an alarm that can be switched on and off.

A few weeks before the period for which you have booked, we will provide directions on how to find the property and practical details about the house (including contact details for a local Englishman who is responsible for management of the property, pool maintenance and arranging changeovers).
