A quiet and peaceful location with a traditional 'en pierre' house

The house is located 10 min of Vinon sur Verdon, 20 min from Manosque and 45 min from Aix en Provence. It is situated on a private property of 170 ha on the outskirts of the Gorges du Verdon. Our property consists of agricultural acres, hills, a small stream and huge old oak trees, giving you a great opportunity for a walk through the hills, a quiet place to read or a nice picnic. Dogs are welcome and can roam around freely, unless they chase our donkeys or hunt. The house used to be a sheep barn with typical 'en pierre' walls of 70 cm thick, which was turned into a very pleasant home, cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. There is a beautiful pool (11 x 5m) with an overflowing system and an inbuilt jacuzzi. The terrace runs from the front to the pool side, giving you a diversity of places to choose for sun or shade. Our nearest neighbours live 6 km further down the road, so your privacy is guaranteed. Lots of charming villages around with nice restaurants.

A separate comfortable apartment (42m2) on the east side of the house on the 1st floor. The living room has a kitchen with a 4ring stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine. The bathroom has floor heating, a shower, toilet and a beautiful sink. The separate bedroom has two box spring beds of 90x200m and one big cupboard and a walk in bathroom with a big shower. Decorated in light colours which enhances the beautiful light of the Provence. The high ceiling has old oak beams. The living room has French style furniture, with a click-clack couch (160x200), coffee table, an extra couch and a 4 p dining table. It is connected to the central heating system. The two French balconies with shutters give you a panorama view on the valley with beautiful sunrises. SPECIAL: We offer a pick up service from Marseille or Aix en Provence and the possibility of renting one of our classic cars (Range Rover/Citroen DS)(left hand drive). The House is situated in the hilly countryside, which is on the outskirts of the Gorges du Verdon with Lac d'Esparron and Lac St. Croix nearby between the savage rural countryside with olive trees and charming fields with poppy's and the famous sunflowers. The terrace offers a beautiful valley panorama giving changing views all day long. From different spots on the estate you have splendid views on either St. Julien or Greoux les Bains with it's old templier's castle and the health spa. North the lavenderfields of Valensole with the Alpes on the background; east the old medieval village La Verdiere with another magnificent castle, south Joucques, a lovely little village glued to the hills, further south the second cultural centre of France: Aix en Provence with it's fountains and theatres. West of us, just across the Durance, you'll find the Luberon area with lots of vineyards and lovely small villages where you can taste all the different flavours in their wines. Every day markets.

Hunting - Fishing

Fishing trips/licence can be arranged for. You have to bring your own equipment. Please inform us at your booking. The clay pigeon shooting site on the premises is during the hunting season closed, but for special requests we can re-open it. Outside the hunting season you can participate on Saturday shootings with the local club.

More sportive activities

SIGHT SEEING/WALKS - On request we can organize some special sight seeing trips or walks. Detailed walking/hiking maps are available and the region offers great opportunities for fabulous hikes. RALLYE - Next to that we can organize special rally tours, due to the fact that the owner used to be a classic car rally driver himself. MTB - The are several special tracks for MTB's in the neighbourhood, which are quite challenging. GLIDER - Glider and flying courses are given (at a reasonable price) at the nearby airfield of Vinon sur Verdon (9 km), which is famous for its several world records in gliding distances. Sightseeing flights are possible as well (fi to the Alpes). GOLF - There is one very lovely 18 holes golf course on 30 min drive, for other golf possibilities you have to take into account a drive of one hour at least.

Health Spa - other services

Our neighbouring village - Greoux les Bains - (7km) is well known for it's health spa's, especially related to rheumatic and skin problems. Several day programs are available including complete body massages. We can arrange a driver/guide by the day if you don't want to face the French traffic. We also have a pick up service from Marseille airport or Aix en Provence TGV train station.
