L'Ange du Cedre is a beautiful ‘Maison de Maitre’ (country house) set in the heart of a 180 year old, 35 acre estate in the Var. It is surrounded by ancient Olive Groves with Vineyards behind it. The 450m2 of living accommodation has been recently modernised and now sleeps 6-8 people comfortably. It has a 12x5 m swimming pool and kids' playarea. The estate is situated near the lively village of Flayosc, and has uninterrupted views of the Massif de Maures mountain range. While only being minutes away from the village, the estate is a haven of peace and tranquillity, with frequent deer, owls, bats, eagles and hares - a safe environment for the kids. Smaller shops and supermarkets are available in Flayosc, with larger hypermarkets, cinemas and even a theatre accessible in the town of Draguignan. Cycling, Fishing, Hunting, Riding and Tennis are all available within a 10 mile radius, while all water sports can be reached with a 40 minute drive to the coast.

Flayosc is the perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence, only 40 minutes away from the busy tourist spots of the coast. The village offers excellent shops for food, a weekly market, pharmacy, bank, several bars and restaurants, laundry/dry-cleaner and wine co-operative. It also has a tourist office offering excellent information about the area. Flayosc was a Roman settlement with a Roman road passing nearby. The village was defended by its circular wall of houses. In the wall you'll find three saracen doors and there are several ancient fountains. In the centre of the village stands the large St. Laurent church, which dates back to the 11th century, with its fortified and decorated bell tower. We are situated only 40 minutes away from the sandy beaches of the St. Tropez bay and the dramatic scenery of Gorges de Verdon, the Grand Canyon of Europe. Perched medieval villages, olive mills, daily markets and 15 golf courses are within easy reach.

Golf: The property is close to several golf courses in the region. Prices range from about 60 to 100 Euros per round, but you can buy 'carnets' or books of tickets which work out slightly cheaper. The course which this owner uses is St Endreol, which is about a 25 minutes drive, and which has a spa and a restaurant attached to it to relax in after your game. It is quite a hilly course but buggies are provided at reasonable rates.

Other Activities: Golf is 35min away, as is diving, water skiing, wind surfing, and sailing. Ski stations are 2 hours away.

Six of us stayed at L'Ange du Cedre during the last week of May (2009) and had a fantastic time. The house is very nice with wonderful views and very quiet. Its great if you want to relax by the pool or visit the amazing places nearby. The house had everything we needed and more! There is plenty of space, nice bedrooms and the swimming pool is very large/clean. We managed to swim everyday in May! I would recommend the house/location to anyone and is great for large familes/parties.
