  • Bathroom 1 is on the ground floor and was completely modernised in January 2008 to a high standard. The bath incorporates a shower, and the room includes a luxury double vanity unit. There is a separate WC. Bathroom 2 (on the first floor) has also been completely revamped and includes a brand new shower enclosure, toilet and washbasin. Completed March 2008. The kitchen has also just been completely refurbished to a high standard (finished in January 2008), and now incorporates washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. The interior was completely redecorated at the beginning of 2007.

This is an ideal location for those wanting to experience the food, wine, charm and bustle of Provençal village life, while being only 15 minutes from the spectacular Gorges du Verdon and the activities offered in and around the 11 kilometre-long Lac Ste Croix. You will find numerous beaches and secluded coves for swimming and sunbathing, as well as places (in the summer season) to hire pedalloes, kayaks, canoes and electric boats to take you into the gorge itself. Formidable!

You might also like to try white-water rafting (out of season), sailing, climbing or paragliding in and around the lake / gorge area. Alternatively, we are surrounded by great walking and cycling country to suit most abilities, and horse-riding is available nearby too.

And all around are vineyards and lavender fields......and the Med is only an hour away!

Other Activities: WiFi / broadband – bring your own WiFi-enabled laptop, if you need to stay connected.

Fantastic Holiday home - everything we needed and more!
Beautiful patio area for sitting out and meals, and a lovely large garden. The location was excellent - lots of pretty provencal villages to visit and the Gorges and Lac St Croix were amazing! Lots to do for children - swimming in the lac, cycling and take a pedelo down the Gorge.
Our only regret was that we only visited for a week! We will be back without a doubt. We would highly recommend the house and area.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Dear Colin

A brief note to say what a wonderful time we had chez Maison Burns. A lovely house in which to stay, situated in a lovely village. It had been many years since I visited that area of Provence and it was even more stunning than my memories. On my first visit the Lac de St Croix wasn't even there!! On a later visit I drove down in an MG Midget and camped in a very small tent. Your house provided a very different experience!! An excellent holiday.

A fabulous family holiday

We had a fabulous holiday and wanted for nothing in the excellently equipped house. Cathy was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. She had no influence over the weather and so we had a couple of days rain but that didn't deter from our enjoyment. We thoroughly enjoyed the markets at both Salerne and Aups.We took a pedalo and a kayake out on the lake st croix and explored up gorge where we picnicked on the bank...lovely The barbeque was a great success and well used. All in all a great time and wouldn't hestitate to recommend to others and indeed, return ourselves

Perfection in Provence

This property is the one that we all hope we are getting when we rent online. It was exactly what it said on the tin! Perfectly situated for lots of sight seeing, beautifully maintained, and wonderful spacious rooms with lots of books and great music, every taste was catered for. It is situated near lots of wonderful hill villages with markets on a weekly basis. The local village is within walking distance and is very small, just one bar and no bakery, you place an order for bread the night before in the bar, this is a bit of a drawback as you tend to feel its hardly worth it if you're just there for a week, but there are two largish supermarkets 5 minutes drive away. This house is really perfect for those wanting to relax. A car is essential tho' and visits to local markets and restaurants add to the experience. There is a gourmet restaurant within walking distance, and a local agent to welcome you to the property and be on hand should you need her. We also had our dogs with us, an enclosed garden and tiled floors . meant we could relax We were also blessed with great weather, but this house would be equally attractive in the heart of winter. I would thoroughly recommend it, we enjoyed day trips to Nice, Frejus and St. Tropez and next time will venture up the Gorge du Verdon!
