Villa La Kouale: this enchanting, secluded property is set in 2.5 acres of terraced Provencal woodland. The house has recently been redecorated throughout, offering comfortable, modern accommodation whilst still retaining a rustic feel. To the front, the house opens out onto a large patio dining area (shaded in the summer months by green oak trees) before leading down to a small provencal garden flanked on either side by walled terraces. The adjacent pathway provides an ideal pitch for a game of boules and, just beyond, there is a children's play area within sight of the house. Behind the house, further terraces lead down to a lovely 12m swimming pool and pool house. The pool is surrounded by an attractive decked area which is perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the spectacular views of the valley below. All in all, La Kouale provides the perfect retreat for a relaxing family holiday.

La Kouale sits on a hill top just outside the charming village of Bras in the heart of ‘La Provence Verte’. The market towns of St Maximin and Brignoles giving access to the A8 motorway are approximately 15 minutes away and the historic Provencal villages of Barjols, Ponteves and Cotignac are also close by. Further afield, the beautiful Aix-en-Provence is 45 mins away to the east. The famous Gorges de Verdon and Lac de Sainte Croix lie less than an hour’s drive to the north, offering spectacular scenery and a variety of outdoor pursuits (beaches, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, etc). The famous Cote d’Azur beaches and access to the romantic island of Porquerolles lie the same distance to the south. La Kouale is well served by three international airports: Nice (approx 1hr 15mins), Toulon (approx 50 mins) and Marseille (approx 55 mins).

Notes: La Kouale has 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, 2 of which open directly onto the patio at the front of the house. There is a shared bathroom and a separate WC. The front terrace is also accessible from the newly refurbished kitchen and from the spacious lounge with TV, DVD/Video. A staircase from the lounge leads up to the first floor accommodation which comprises a large, airy double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (with WC) and an additional mezzanine lounge/study area. Outside, the pool house offers simple cooking/kitchen facilities (fridge, sink, built-in barbecue) and a separate WC. There is a range of sports equipment available for guest use (table tennis, badminton and boules), a children's play frame in the garden and further toys in the house.

Restaurants: If you can drag yourself away from La Kouale for an evening out, there are a number of excellent and varied restaurants to try in the Bras area. These range from the finest haute cuisine at the Michelin starred Alain Ducasse restaurant at La Celle (15 minutes), the unique experience of dining amidst the cloisters of the famous basilica at St Maximin (15 minutes) to several good local eating places in the surrounding towns and villages. If you cannot drag yourself away from La Koale, try the take away pizzeria in Bras - the pizzas are fantastic!

Villa La Kouale.

Well what can I say…? Having travelled from the UK to Marseille Airport arriving at 10.30pm and then onto a village called Bras (about a 50mins drive) this is where we were met by two lovely French girls. We then followed them to the Villa up a small winding road then we came a cross the Villa…WOW WOW we were like children in a sweet shop could not believe our eyes.
The Villa was all lit up and the shutters were open, on the table outside were lit candles this was a beautiful touch.

I better mention the owner Becky she made the whole booking process very easy good communications and directions we also phoned her a couple times which she was only too willing to give us answers to our questions, which if we had read the information provided in the villa (which of cause is first class) we could of saved ourselves the phone call.

Important issues would we recommend the villa I could say no this would give us the chance of booking it for ourselves next year…. of cause the answer would be Yes. 10/10
The property was very well equipped, maintained and clean….we did not have any issues at all. The description on the web site was spot on.

We spent most of our time by the lovely swimming pool relaxing and having some good family time together the only thing we would do next time is to book another week.

So all I can say now is a big thank you to Becky and family and we hope to be there next year.
