Authentic Provencal village house

Just an easy 40 minute drive from Nice airport brings you to the department of the Var and the village of Callian. Close to the year round amenities of the Cote d'Azur but retaining its true Provencal atmosphere. The house is located in the heart of the village below the 13th century castle. The roof terrace faces south with views to the valley and Lac St Cassien. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living rooms, well equipped kitchen and dining room - newly decorated in Provencal style using local materials throughout. Free parking outside with 2 car parks nearby - the immediate vicinity is pedestrianised making it safe for children.

The House

The accommodation is on three floors. The ground floor comprises a large bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with bathtub, shower, sink & toilet, a sitting room (which can be used for additional sleeping space - extra beds in storage) and a utility room. The first floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and fireplace. There is a double bedroom and bathroom equipped with power shower, sink & toilet. The top floor - a large living room with fireplace leading to the roof terrace overlooking the valley and lake beyond. We have now refurbished the two floor apartment directly below the house, which, whilst it is the same building, has a separate entrance. Large beamed living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom. Ideal for friends or teenagers who want a little independence. Price negotiable and photos available.

The Village

Callian. Of course, the village has its 'petanque' pitch as well as a friendly tennis club. From May-September the streets, whilst never overcrowded, buzz with ambiance - frequent 'fetes', open-air movies and busy bar terraces. In the spring, mild, sunny days, in the autumn, delicious game dishes, truffles and cepes, and in winter, the cosy comfort of log fires. Within a five minute walk of the house you find the bakers, butchers, grocers, newsagent, post office, bars and restaurants. Within a ten minute drive, a Farmers Market, two supermarkets and a large choice of restaurants and specialty shops.
