Fayence and area:
Fayence is a very attractive village, from the historic hilltop centre to the hillsides and the lower plain. The area has supermarkets, shops offering local produce, workshops for local pottery, candles, glass - all you could need without going too far. The neighbouring historic villages of Seillans, Tourrettes, Callian and Montauroux all have their own character and are worth exploring.

Driving: Only 25 mins from Junction 39 of the A8 Motorway
Train or Motorail: Avignon (2 hrs) Nice (1 hr) Frejus/St Raphael (45 mins)
Air: Nice Airport (45 mins) served by several UK airlines, including Easyjet from several UK Airports. Toulon Airport is about 90 mins.
Local activities:
The superb Lac St Cassien is only 15 minutes away (you'll pass it if you come from the A8 motorway). It offers swimming, fishing, pedalo-hire, sailing (non-motor) and picnic areas. In the forest surrounding the lake, there are popular tracks for mountain-biking and walking. The world-famous Fayence Gliding Club offers flights, or you can just call in for a meal or drink and watch the action. Our nearest golf is at the Four Seasons resort, Terre Blanche, 15 minutes away, but there are many golf courses in the area.
Other attractions:
A day at the beach. The coast is renowned for its varied resorts and spectacular scenery. Nearest beaches La Napoule (30 minutes) or Frejus (40 minutes).
It's an easy drive to towns such as St Paul de Vence, Antibes, St Tropez or Vallauris which have art galleries with exhibitions of the work of such artists as Picasso, Matisse, Miro, Chagall. The village of Biot is famous for its glassworks, and Vallauris for pottery. Enjoy the scents and colours of Provencal markets. Take the coastal train to Nice. Walk or cycle in the picturesque Esterel hills. Drive the famous 'Corniche' road. See the glitz of Monte Carlo. Head up to the mountains and the Gorges de Verdon.
