This is our house, situated in the very heart of the medieval village of Fayence, surrounded by narrow pedestrian streets, What more is, behind the house, there is a hidden garden with a fantastic view over the tiled roofs, the plane, and the mountains far away where the sun sets. Behind the thick walls of this old house, hundreds of years of age, it’s cool even if hot outside. The kitchen has everything you need, through the window you might hear the pouring water from an ancient well much used in the old times, now covered with plants. The sitting room with access to the garden has CD and TV with international channels (as well as Swedish). There are two double bedrooms with private baths - a loft where children may sleep -if you bring them! And if they are not too young. There is another double bedroom with WC/hand basin with access from the garden for another two adults, which means the house sleeps 8. But: ideal is 4 adults.

Thank God this is still a rural area - but probably it will not last for long. Properties are highly demanded, people want to get away from the busy and overbuilt cost area. Here you may still see hundreds of sheep in the plains, and fields full of flours like in the paintings of Monet. And not to forget the mighty mountains watching over us. The village is the biggest in the area, plenty of restaurants, shops etc .and a newly built impressive scene in Roman style for cultural events Opposite the valley is located the most luxurious golf course built in France, La Terre Blanche. Fayence is also a centre for gliders, and these silent and beautiful things adds to the peaceful atmosphere in this area. What also must be said, Fayence is also known for it´s antique markets 5 or 6 times a year, as well as for the climate - the Roman called it ' Faventia', The favoured place, because of it´s protected location, the air and the pouring water from the mountains above.

Lac st Cassien and the beaches: Only 15 minutes away there is the beautiful 'Lac st Cassien' for bathing in the sweet water, boat rentals, fishing och walks in the surrounding nature. Ideal for picnic or a lunch at some restaurant by the seaside. If you want to swim in the real sea, the closest beach is in Mandelieu, half an hours ride, exit 40 on the highway A8. The other direction on the A8 takes you to the beaches in Frejus and St Raphael, exit 38.There is also a swimming pool down hill in Fayence.

Excursions: Not far away, there is the biggest canyon in Europe, Gorges du Verdon - a must for everyone to visit. It will take you a little more than an hour to go there. Fayence is ideal for so many excursion, not too far away from anything really,.The one day excursions may lead you to Aix en Provence or to San Remo in Italy or to Monaco

the villages in the valley of Fayence: Other villages is worth visiting: Seillans, Tourettes, Callian and Montauroux, not to forget Mons higher up at 850 m above sea level. You will find all information about cultural events in the area during your stay in the tourist office of Fayence, also information about guided tours and pedestrian walks in the mountains.

Other Activities: Fayence is a center of gliders, they are all over your heads! You may join.
