Typical 18th century Provencal house in olive grove

This typical 18th century provencal house is located in a wooded park of 15 acres where mediterranean essences are perfectly at home. On the property you will discover an olive grove of over 200 trees some of which are more than 2 centuries old, fig trees, eucalyptuses, oaks and oleanders. The terraces surrounding the house are protected from the sun by wisteria and a walnut tree. This is an authentic home lived in and cared for all year round by a local family. Next to the 6 x 12 metre pool (with security alarm) you will find a charming summer kitchen equipped with refrigerator and BBQ, a shady summer lounge with a rattan sofa and armchairs and an authentic stone 'cabanon' containing a double bedroom, toilets and shower. The house is due south on a hillside in a quiet spot just 2,5 kilometres from the heart of Salernes, famous for its ceramics. The village is ideally located between the buzzing coast (St. Tropez 45mn) and the peaceful Alps ( the stunning Verdon Gorges 35 mn).

Other beautiful nearby sites are Sillans la Cascade with its breathtaking waterfall, the small valley of St. Barthélemy, Cotignac nested below steep cliffs and troglodyte dwellings, Tourtour listed as being one of the most beautiful villages in France, Entrecasteaux with its castle and park that was designed by Le Nôtre (who also designed the gardens of the Chateau de Versailles), Villecroze overlooked by its caves (guided tours), not to forget Aups famous for its truffles. Also for the connaisseurs, many vineyards are to be found nearby. Do not miss the Sunday and Wednesday morning provencal markets.
