Notes to the rental rates

• A minimum rental period of 2 weeks is required between 5 July and 5 September 2008. Special rates can be negotiated outside the school holidays for parties of less than 4 people or for long-term rentals. A security deposit of £500 is required for all rentals. Pool heating is available, in May/June and September/October, depending on the weather. The cost of laundry and cleaning the property at the end of your stay is included, though we ask tenants to leave the property in the state in which they found it and any extra cleaning may be charged against the security deposit. Extra cleaning/laundry can be arranged at the tenants' own cost, provided sufficient notice is given. Flexible start dates and rental periods can be negotiated over Christmas and New Year or at Easter, with appropriate price adjustments.

The domaine

The quiet residential domain of St Pierre, just 3km from Tourtour, offers a safe and varied environment for a family holiday. There are 4 tennis courts (book-able in July/August), a 24 x 12m communal swimming pool with changing rooms and showers, a beautiful ornamental lake and many lovely walks. There are also two restaurants within walking distance of the house.

Local attractions

La Caille-Perdrix is the ideal base from which to explore this unspoilt part of Provence. Local attractions include: mountain biking, riding, fishing and golf; the spectacular Gorges de Verdon, France's answer to the Grand Canyon, with rock climbing, canoeing and white-water rafting; the Lac St Croix for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and boating activities; in the winter, skiing just 2 hours away at Isola and Val d'Allos. And, for the less adventurous: many pretty villages, including Salernes famous for its tiles and Moustiers for its decorative porcelain; lively Provencal markets, antique/craft fairs, art exhibitions, concerts and fetes; an excellent choice of restaurants, ranging from the local tabac, to those with a Michelin star; wine-tasting in the many domaines in the area producing Cote Varois; the coast (not to mention the night-life) at St Maxime and St Tropez. And for those who wish to do simply nothing at all, this is also the perfect place to relax and unwind.
