Villa Les Peupliers. Charming Provençale villa for 8 people with sole use of pool tennis court and professional tennis table. Near the delightful “village de caractere” of Cotignac (approx 1.5miles). The villa has easy access and backs onto its own small woodland with large private swimming pool (11.5m x 5m), pool-house, solar shower, sun-loungers, all-weather tennis court , large grass area ideal for football and ball game, garage. Ground floor: outside - large terrace (partly shaded, partly sunny) with built-in barbecue, ideal for al fresco dining. Inside - Large open plan lounge/dining room 35m2 with wood-burning fire and satellite TV/DVD, fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, dishwasher etc.) bathroom, separate toilet, 1 bedroom with double bed, 1 bedroom with twin beds. First floor: two double bedrooms, gallery, and shower room with toilet. Included: electricity, water, gas, 1cot ,1 travel cot and 1 high chair, ping pong table and boules .

Cotignac has restaurants, bars, cafes and a wide range of small shops, a doctor, pharmacy etc. and twice-weekly markets. It has been designated a “village de caractere”. A wider range of facilities is available in nearby Brignoles (approx 10 miles away).Cotignac is situated in the interior of Var in the center of Provence at 230m altitude, this is a city of character. With a waterfall in the background, Cotignac stands at the foot of a majestic great rock. The main square containing fountains and lined with shady plane trees is an ideal setting for the cafes and is the scene of a weekly market selling the local produce of vegetables, goats cheese, olives, herbs and honey. The local wines are excellent and inexpensive and the local olive oil and olives are of superb quality. Cotignac is surrounded by a wealth of chateaux, monasteries, museums, antique shops and galleries. The Var region boasts the maximum hours of sunshine in the whole of France.

The village nestles below a failaise (cliff) of gigantic proportions composed of Tufa rock riddled with caves. The cliff is dramatically floodlit throughout the year and provides a marvellous backdrop to the pantiled houses and narrow winding streets. The open air theatre, which is set against the cliff, stages performances of classical music, dance and drama throughout the summer months. The charming village summer fetes which take place every weekend throughout the region provide an amusing entertainment for the whole family with music and dancing, paid for by the local communities.

The great rock which stretches for about 400m. is quite an amazing sight. The moving sun aIters the shadows which in turn are constantly changing the aspect ot the sides of the clift. One can see at different times, giant stalactites, ledges, and deep crags. All of this hovering 80m. above the houses built at the bottom. Take the time to make a detour. You'll fall under the charm of this village like no other.

Last 2 feed back. 1- Firstly , let me thank you for letting us stay at your lovely villa . It was what we had hoped for and more ! Cleanliness of the villa was of a high standard and we found Danielle charming and helpful . We actually spent so much time in the villa playing boules , tennis , swimming etc that we didn,t see as much of the area as we had hoped ! But it was nice for the first week of our break just to unwind . And we only had one complaint ... that we didn't book earlier so we could have stayed for two weeks !! We will certainly be reccommending your villa to our friends and hopefully be back ourselves someday . Regards Iain. 2- must tell you that we had a fantastic time and sincerely wished we had booked for 2 weeks (or preferably for a month). Provence is so beautiful and it was an incredibly peaceful and relaxing house, with such lovely expanses of land around we felt really free, and only a donkey and a pony in the next field . ).
