A charming Provencal villa of very high standards, within walking distance to the village (less than 500 m). The villa has 4 spacious bedrooms, all with beautifully tiled ensuite bath/shower rooms (all with WC's and one bidet) and with their own exit doors to the garden. Each bedroom is equipped with an air condition system. Large sitting room with dining area and mezzanine, and a well-equipped kitchen. All floors are covered with ancient Provencal tiles giving the villa a rustic atmosphere. South covered facing terrace with a magnificent view of the perched village of Flayosc with its fortified bell tower (11th century). Set in 7500 m2 with many pine, oak and an olive grove. There is a private swimming pool (4 x 8m) and a pool shower in front of the house. The pool area is completely fenced in. There is a newly built car port for one car.

The village: Flayosc is the perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence, only 40 minutes away from the busy tourist spots of the coast. The village offers excellent shops for food, a weekly market (Mondays), pharmacy, bank, several bars and restaurants, laundry/dry-cleaner and wine co-operative. It also has a tourist office offering excellent information about the area.

History: Flayosc was a Roman settlement with a Roman road passing nearby. The village was defended by its circular wall of houses, much still visible today. In the wall you'll find three sarrazines doors and there are several ancient fountains. In the centre of the village stands the large St. Laurent church, which dates back to the 11th century, with its fortified and decorated bell tower.

The area: Flayosc is situated only 40 minutes away from the sandy beaches of the St. Tropez bay and the dramatic scenery of Gorges de Verdon, the Grand Canyon of Europe. Perched medieval villages, olive mills, daily markets, wine tasting and first class gourmet restaurants. There are 15 challenging golf courses within an hour's drive.

After many hours of internet search we finally got sight of Bel Air. The choice showed to be very successful - the place fulfilled all our expectations plus much more. Fabulous location, quality of house and garden and unlimited possibilities of privacy. The village has charm and anything that cold-blooded Nordics might expect to experience without too much effort. Bel Air is a place the owners can be very proud of. / Elise and Leif-Erik and family, 9-16 July 2005.

After travelling through France for a week we arrived at this beautiful villa with its breathtaking views. Both our families have had a wonderful time at your lovely home in Provence. Our three families arrived at villa Bel-Air to find everything we had expected. The villa was very well equipped and all necessary comforts provided for.The lovely pool was well used by adults and children alike.
The most amazing views to the village of Flayosc from the terrace were a delight and to look out from the upper balcony at night when all the lights in the village were on was wonderful.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bel-Air and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone contemplating a stay in the area.

Great views from the house-lovely pool

Enjoyed my two weeks at the house with three other couples and while the overall experience was positive there were a few things we were all not thrilled with.
You might want to ask the rental agent about the stray dog and garbage situation before you commit to this one. And having enough keys for the house and the gate.
If she has not straightened it all out-take a pass.
Also some shabby furnishings that could use replacement -lounge chair bottoming out and duct tape on the walls in kitchen and dinnning area-was not appreciated. But the kitchen was well supplied with pots and pans and sharpened knives along with Villery & Boch China. So the extra special touches made up for some of the less than pristine interior. Pool is great. Outdoor eating area wonderful (but could use updated and more substantial table and chairs) The plastic table and chairs were a big no-no for me.
Beds comfortable, Shower pressure good and all in all I would give it a solid 8 out fo 10. The master bedroom is great the rest of the bedrooms are adequate.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Families with Young Children

I would just like to comment on this very constructive review made by rental guests from New York:

1. The stray dog belonged to a neighbor and came for garbage early every the morning. The rental guests had left plastic garbage bags outside the kitchen door (a misunderstanding). I've later found out that the dog was unwell last summer and he's now dead.
2. There are two sets of keys for the house & gate. A third set can be provided if needed.
3. Some of the lounge furniture has been replaced.
4. The duct tape was put up by an architect to show the full scale of a vault that is going to be opened up between the kitchen and the sitting room. These works will be done next winter.
5. Outdoor tables and chairs, plus the sunbeds, have all been updated.
