The villa:
Les Oliviers was built in 2000 and is a modern, but charming provencal villa. Located just outside the little village, it takes only ten minutes in the morning to walk to the baker, where you can buy fresh baguettes and croissants. The covered terrace is ideal for al fresco eating, while you enjoy the wonderful views over hillside and valley.
Recently a summer kitchen with a stone barbecue has been built to add to outdoor living. A lovely spot to relax and unwind in and ideally placed to explore this part of the Var.
The region:
There is always something going on somewhere and you can usually find a village market or a shady cafe/restaurant. Fayence has a market three times a week (mornings) and the market at Le Muy, 30 kms away, is worth the trip. Grasse, Mougins and Draguignan are within an easy drive and there are some fine beaches and good seafood restaurants along the coast.
Nature is very varied, with woods, lakes, hills and mountains and is excellent for walking.
Further afield:
A good day out will take you to the stunning Verdon Gorges, or to Moustiers Saint Marie, famous for its pottery. Saint Tropez and Nice, with its wonderful Friday morning flower market in the old part of the town, are an hour or so from here.
Golf:
There are many golf courses in the region, like Terre Blanche, with two 18 holes courses at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Resort at Fayence/Tourrettes (10 minutes drive), St. Andreol at La Motte (30 minutes) and Valescure (40 minutes) has three courses on a row. Within 1 hour's drive there are more than 10 courses!
