Located on the outskirts of the medieval perched hillside village of Claviers, this tastefully furnished villa is built on a south west facing hillside of about a quarter of an acre of terraced garden with olive and cherry trees above and below the house. The garden is typically provencal smelling of lavender, rosemary and thyme and filled with cyprus and palm trees.
Our good sized swimming pool is well equipped with sun loungers, table and chairs and its own shower. It is totally secluded with wonderful views of surrounding countryside and Bargemon. Romantically lit at night it is perfect for late night swimming.
All bedrooms are light and airy with ceiling fans. They are well equipped with new comfortable beds, Scandinavian quilts and pillows and plenty of cupboard space. The main bedroom has a king size bed and the two other bedrooms each have 2 large single beds. There is sleeping accommodation for 2 more in the sitting room on a large sofa bed. The house is in an excellent location, 1km from the attractive village of Claviers. There is a boulangerie, a local shop, a bar and 2 restaurants in the village – all 5-10 mins walk from the house. There are several golf courses nearby and tennis courts at Bargemon and Seillans a few minutes drive away. This is a good area for walkers as there are marked paths and hiking trails all around the house. There is a beautiful lake about 16km at Saint Cassien which is great for boating, windsurfing and bathing.
The coast is about 30km. The coastline along the Corniche d’Esterel between Cannes and St Raphael is very beautiful. The nearest sandy beach would be St Maxime or Mandelieu La Napoule. It is well placed for exploring the ancient picturesque villages of the Var such as Fayence, Bargemon, Seillans and Montauroux. These villages have especially good restaurants and colourful local markets. It is within easy driving distance to many vineyards with plenty of possibility for wine tasting. It is also about 30km from Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. Nice airport is 65 km, under an hour's drive. Toulon airport is about 70 mins away and Marseilles airport is about 90 mins away.
