Nearest towns are Grasse and Draguignan with Cannes, Frejus and St Tropez within forty minutes drive.

The entertainment system includes Radio & CD/DVD player with surround sound, 46' flat screen HDTV with BBC, ITV & Sky programmes. Internet access with wireless broadband includes free telephone service throughout Europe, USA and Canada. Parking space for several cars. Wide steps lead down to the large pool terrace which is private and sheltered, surrounded by thick hedges and mature trees and fully equipped for sun bathing. The mosaic tiled and heated pool, measuring 8 x 4.5 x 2.2metres deep, has an alarm system to meet new safety requirements. There is a boules court (2 sets of boules provided) and tables and chairs for aperitifs during matches. A winding path leads through a peaceful shady area to the well stocked fish-pond and bench for quiet reflection. Tranquil olive terraces of 2000 sq. metres also contain fig and apple trees. Villa unsuitable for children under 5 due to balconies, marble staircase and unfenced fish pond.

Things to do.

Cannes, Antibes, St Tropez, Juan Les Pins and the other fashionable resorts of the Cote d'Azur are all within easy reach from Fayence but the coast gets extremely busy in the summer and those who prefer a more leisurely environment may prefer to explore the historical villages in the region - Mons, Callian, Bargemon and St Cezaire. The Gorges of Verdon and Siagne are wonderful sights. A wide range of restaurants can be found, both in the villages and in the valley, providing regional recipes. At lunchtime in the village, tables spill out into the street, and the locals enjoy their favourite pastime.

Activities

The municipal tennis courts and swimming pool are a five minute drive from the house. There are many golf courses, including Terre Blanche, A newly established Health Spa is proving to be popular. All forms of water sports are to be found on the magnificent Lac de St Cassien within fifteen minutes drive of the Villa. Fayence itself is a famous international gliding centre offering trial flights for beginners as well as a truly spectacular gliding environment for experienced pilots. Horse riding is available locally and all levels of walking can be found in the surrounding countryside. Fayence has a new Cultural Centre with indoor and outdoor theatres. Theatrical performances and music are performed here and in local churches throughout the summer. Art galleries are to be found in the Cultural centre and in all local villages displaying the works of many local artists.

Local Colour

Fayence has a colourful local market in the village square three times a week. Here you will find local pottery and fabrics as well as fresh vegetables, cheeses and local specialities. Near-by is the local Marché Paysan (Farmers Market) which is open six days a week in the summer. Farmers from the local area bring their own produce fresh each morning to the market. Produce rarely seen at home can be found - white aubergines and courgettes flowers, for example. Eggs sold here are fresh from the hen and you can pick your own salads from a huge variety of leaves. Browse around the shelves of farm produce for locally made cheeses, wines and preserves.
