Mas Notre Dame is a traditional 4 + bedroom 4 bathroom detached French house and just a stroll to the sandy quiet beach. Private pool and garden the house has been in our ownership since 1998. Covered dining terrace with stunning views as far as the eye can see of the Mediterranean sea, Cap Negre and the Isles D'Hyeres. The 9m x 4m swimming pool and shallow children pool has a salt sanitation system an electrically operated safety cover and pool alarm. Sun bathe on our cedar poolside deck, bbq and eat alfresco on the open sun terrace, play boules under the vine and wisteria pergola, or just sit and relax on the lawn under a beautiful Mulberry tree for shade. The bedrooms are all double size with either two single or a double bed each having a door onto a terrace area. The basement sitting room is a lovely, cool place to sit and read or watch television. We have a large fridge/freezer with ice maker and fully functional kitchen all set for a really relaxing holiday in the sun.

Le Rayol/ Canadel is on the delectable and largely unspoiled Mediterranean coastline west of St Tropez. It is situated between the towns of Le Lavandou (which has12 sandy beaches) and Cavalaire sur mer, both of which have a large choice of restaurants, shops and a marina with many sailing boats. Mas Notre Dame is only a short walk to canadel beach, and the local restaurants, about 2km from the village of le Rayol with the botanical gardens of the Domaine, local shops and bar/ restaurant and 2km from the resort of Cavaliere. We are 25 km from Toulon Hyeres airport (service operated by Ryanair- London/Bristol, Air France - Paris, Transavia -Rotterdam) and 45 minutes from Toulon town and railway station. Just 30 minutes drive to the local 18 hole golf course at la Londe. We have superb cycle routes and plenty of places to walk. Many local hilltop villages to explore, local wines to taste and vineyards to visit. St Tropez with its artists, boats and amazing people is just a short drive.

  • The bathrooms are all fully tiled, the showers and bath have thermostatic controlled taps and the hand basins mixer taps. The house has a total of 5 toilets. All our white bathroom towels are supplied at no extra cost.

  • The house is on two levels. At the entrance there are two bedrooms. These rooms comprise one bedroom with a large double bed, with en-suite bathroom, and the other with a standard double bed, with en-suite shower room. Down a spiral staircase to the lower floor which also has two bedrooms with twin beds but with the addition of two more single beds in the family bedroom. one of these twin bedded rooms has an en-suite shower room and the other has a shower room adjacent. We sleep 8 adults in comfort. What better than to wake up to a stunning view of the sea, all rooms have a door onto a terrace area. Fan's are supplied in all bedrooms. Notes: Mas Notre Dame is a family home, we use it ourselves during the winter months, it is therefore furnished as our home and not as a typical holiday home.We have nice quality kitchen equipment, white bed linen,white china, lots of cutlery, and glasses.The four double bedrooms are a good size, three of which have en-suite facilities and the fourth has has a shower room/toilet just outside this provides a toilet at the swimming pool level.On the lower level is a large basement sitting room with a television, DVD, video player and plenty of books( this is in addition to the entrance floor living room.) Fantastic villa, very friendly and helpful hosts, and amazing views. Villa was a clean and tidy with great facilities, good size, lovely swimming pool and a fab entertaining/BBQ area.

Trouble was, our stay was just not long enough!

Would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking to have a relaxing break with friends and/or family, and who enjoy living in comfort.

Wonderful Holiday House you will not want to leave

A wonderful house with a a great entertaining terrace providing sun and shade from dawn to dusk with a fantastic framed view of the med.

This is a real home from home with everything you could need to cook and dine at home and plenty of space for everyone to relax.

Then within a few minutes drive Rayol has everything you would want to shop for from a great Boulengerie, Charcuterie Boucher a small supermarket, Tabac selling English newspapers, as well as an occasional stall selling fresh fish and another with Pizza cooked over wood.

There is a sandy beach is 10-15 mins stroll down a bit longer back up hill but well worth it. Club Tropicana provides welcome shade and refreshment in the heat of the day.

Don't miss a trip to the Islands you can see from the balcony particularly renting bikes and exploring Pocorelles.

Jennifer & Peter are great hosts there if you need them but not if you dont.

a gem, hidden west of St Tropez

A fabulous house in a fabulous part of the cote d'azur, with accessibility to St Tropez and the surrounding region. This area (specifically Rayol & its pretty beaches) never felt crowded in the height of the summer the way other french coastal towns can be.

The house itself is beautiful -- smartly designed with clean fresh decor. It is spacious with everything you would need, and easily accessible from the main road. The outdoor space is the real treat -- it is plentiful with breathtaking views and many spots to relax.

A perfect home for 2 families to share (even with kids! -- we had 2 families with 4 kids ranging 1 1/2 - 7), without compromising privacy.

Extremely gracious and discreetly available owners next door was a plus too. We will most certainly return!

Gorgeous views and lovely house

We have stayed here twice with our four small children (first time was ages 2-7), with a nanny in tow. The house is lovely with a wide covered verandah where we spent most of our time. The pool is great with a little 'baby' section which is also good for grown up paddles.
Mas Notre Dame was great for a family - once we got used to the balcony and pool which need strict rules/policing with little children. Ours were fine but I would be a bit worried if I had tearaways.
The area is wonderful for family friendly restaurants down at the beach or along the main road (we love Pizza a gogo 1/2 a mile up the road). Easy(-ish with kids) walk to the beach and lovely adventure walk around the rocks.
The hosts are extremely kind and provided a warm welcome. All provisions are good quality and nice simple modern taste.
I suspect we will be back at Notre Dame in future as we love the area and it provides all we need.
