Les Issambres holiday villa: San Peire

Zacky said everything I thought of to say - I fully agree. We (parents and four children) were lucky to spend two wonderful weeks at the villa. The villa is very tastefully equiped and very well maintained. It is just a five minute walk to the see and the port is near by, so our children were able to participate in sailing classes, do waterskiing or just go swimming in the mediterranean without us having to drive them. We also found a tennis club near by.
We truly enjoyed our stay!

You will not be disappointed in the view or the villa. The villa is spacious, very comfortable, and well stocked with fluffy towels, wine glasses, books and a few good movies. You may find yourself dreaming about what it would be like to live there, as you end your day with dinner around the beautiful outside table, with the sun setting and the sky before you turning pink. In the quiet mornings, seagulls stop by for a swim in the pool. While the pool and view are hard to look away from, you will also find the rest of the propery beautifully landscaped with bougainvillea, jasmine and lavender. To me the word "Modern" implies a coldness that does not apply to this villa, more appropriately it has a "newness" to it that comes from being a well maintained, clean and uncluttered home.

The town is charming, with most importantly a great bakery. On Tuesday morning there is a local market that sells everything. You will find that this same market travels to St. Tropez on Thursday and Saint Maxime on Fridays. It seams to change a bit at each location, my favorite was the one in Les Issambres.

For food you will find the "Petite Casino's" everywhere, but they are not the best choice for shopping if you are staying a week or two. When you arrive take a drive to LeClerc or Champion Hypermarches, both close to Cogolin. The villa also has a great outdoor grill so don't forget the charcoal and lighter fluid. You can get fresh fish at the market on Tuesday and there is a great selection of meat at the butcher in Saint Maxime.

In case you are wondering, we were two families with 3 children/teenagers between us. One 5 year old and two sixteen year olds. The two teenagers occuppied the downstairs portion of the house, which is a complete apartment. They loved it! The house was perfectly fine in terms of safety for my five year old and, in my opinion, would be very managable for younger childern as well.

Before the trip my friend used the house as her screen saver for inspiration, now it's the view.
