The area:
Dominated by its early 18th Century Church, Lorgues is a medieval village which was an ancient stop-over in Roman times due to its strategic location. The village lies fifteen minutes north of the convenient N8 Autoroute linking Nice (one hour) and Aix en Provence (50 minutes). This is a superb area for touring. Lorgues sits in the middle of some of the most famous vineyards in Provence and the Var, and is a short distance from the medieval villages and historic sites such as the Gorges du Verdon, which give this region its particular character and relaxing ambiance. The renowned truffle restaurant Chez Bruno is a short ten minute drive away and there are numerous gastronomic experiences and wine tasting cellars within easy reach.
The location:
The stone farmhouse is set in its own extensive grounds of 12,000 square meters off a quiet country road, only two and a half kms from the village and two kms from the nearest country supermarket. Secluded but not isolated and backing onto woodlands, the grounds offer particular privacy and include terraces with vines and olive trees. The house is furnished to extremely high standards and is very comfortable in every way.
The accommodation:
The house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two shower rooms and is arranged on two floors. The ground floor is quarry tiled and comprises an entrance hall with WC and separate shower room, opening on to a magnificent galleried living area leading on to an outside terrace which is partially covered for outside dining and incorporates a charcoal BBQ. The provencal kitchen also leads on to the terrace and is fully equipped for eight and includes all modern electrical conveniences. The outside terrace opens on to a pool of 12 x 6 meters. The pool area is fully equipped with lounge's/ sun beds and umbrellas. One en suite master bedroom, with king-size bed (6 ft), is located downstairs which is particularly suitable for elderly guests. Three further upstairs bedrooms, two queen (5ft) and one twin (3ft 6ins), lead off the attractive galleried landing. One of the bedrooms is enhanced by a balcony overlooking the pool and terraces. Two full bathrooms complete the accommodation.
