A super villa, recently renovated to a very high standard with stunning new bathrooms and air conditioning in all of the bedrooms. South facing with lovely sea views and the beach is two minutes walk. The style is modern, sunny and fresh. All bedrooms (three doubles and one twin) are on the first floor with all of the ground floor being the living and dining area. There is an open fireplace, very comfortable sofas, LCD flat screen with TV and indoor dining table for up to 8. Kitchen is semi open plan and is fully equipped with electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Clothes washer+dryer are housed in a small utility room upstairs. The kitchen, living and dining areas all open on to a large, very sunny terrace - the property is south facing - with teak dining table and chairs to seat up to ten people. There are electric shutters and an awning if the heat gets too much! Pool is 6m x 4.5m and is surrounded by a teak decking with plenty of room for sunbathing.

The villa is located very close to the sea with the dramatic Parc National de l'Esterel as a backdrop. It is situated on the main coast road between Cannes and St Tropez. The sandy beach of Antheor is a couple of minutes walk where there is also a campsite with a shop, restaurant and snack bar. There are a couple of other restaurants within walking distance of the villa and the village of Agay with it's lovely stretch of sandy beach is a few minutes drive. Here there are shops, several restaurants and a market on a Wednesday morning. For those looking for something more lively the bustling resort town of St Raphael is only twenty minutes drive where you can also do boat trips, water sports, just admire the super yachts or shop in the evening markets. There are buses that run along the coast road between St Raphael and Cannes and the train station is less that ten minutes walk and the trains run from St Raphael to the Italian border.

We had a fantastic week (too short) at Villa Irene with my friends and teenage son at the start of summer 2008. The villa is bright, sunny and modern, the upper floor bedrooms and full length balcony giving great views and a feeling of proximity to the med. We walked to the small pretty beach nearby most days but there is a larger beach at Agay a short drive or 40 minute walk away if you prefer it to be livlier. There are a few local restaurants but “Matuzia”, with its Moroccan/French food and relaxed atmosphere was easily our favourite. The setting of the villa provided a range of activities from easy hiking and mountain biking in the Esterel National forest, golf and tennis at Vallescure to shopping and dining in Cannes.
Katie and her team were very helpful and accommodating and we will be hopefully returning for another visit in the near future.
