Villa, fantastic views to the sea and hills, 2km to marvellous beach

The villa is near the top of a hill facing southwest towards the sea. There is a fantastic view of the sea, the islands off the coast and wooded hills. The sunsets are stunning. At night time the lights of Cavalaire reflect on the sea in the distance. It is a bungalow in a quiet area of nice houses with a private garden of 1542m2 (0.38 acres). Much of the garden is quite sloping and lightly wooded. The kitchen is modern and has a microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a separate utility area with a washing machine and dryer. The main bedroom has a double bed and patio doors. The second bedroom (sleeps up to 4) has bunk beds and a separate bed with a sliding bed underneath. Both bedrooms have views to the sea. The living room has a fireplace, two leather sofas and the TV (satellite with UK freeview channels/DVD/video). There is also a dining area with a sofa bed and two sets of patio doors opening out onto the garden. There is ample parking and electric gates.

The villa is about 2km from a marvellous public sandy beach which is several kilometres long. The beach slopes gently into the sea and is ideal for swimming. Nearby also are the famous Gigaro beach and the nature reserve of Cap Lardier/Cap Taillat. The centre of the village of La Croix Valmer is about 1km away. The seaside town of Cavalaire (visible in the distance in the photos) and the medieval hilltop villages of Gassin and Ramatuelle are within 5-7km. St Tropez and Grimaud are about 12km away. There is a large supermarket in Cavalaire and a very large 'Geant' about 10 minutes drive away at La Foux. La Croix Valmer has many small shops and on Sunday mornings there is a large lively local market. There are numerous local restaurants to choose from. Although we do not have a swimming pool there is an excellent large outdoor municipal swimming pool 5 minutes drive away in La Croix Valmer - or of course the beach.

Local activities diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing, water skiing, mountain biking, paragliding

Notes to the rental rates

  • 20% of rental total due on booking. Balance due 6 weeks before arrival. A security deposit cheque of £500 (or equivalent) will be required. From June to September electricity and gas are included. From October to May inclusive gas central heating is available for an additional 50 euros per week. Final cleaning may be arranged with the 'guardienne' directly, if you do not wish to do the cleaning yourselves, however, notice is required. Linen is included. Currently she charges 60 euros. We prefer to rent from Saturday to Saturday particularly from June to August inclusive. However, outside this period there may be some flexibility.

Notes:

There are electric gates by the road. There is a private drive down to the house where there is ample parking and turning. There is gas central heating (if required!). No pets, no letting to under 25s and no smoking in the house or in the garden. Please do not take towels to the beach. The drive down to the house is fairly steep and uneven, so it would be necessary to take anyone elderly down the drive in a car. The television is UK Freeview TV via satelite. If you have Sky with more packages your UK Sky card should extend the options.
