Approx 1 hour from Nice and Toulon airports, and 1.5 hours from Marseilles, the villa is located in the picturesque unspoiled wine village of Plan-de-la-Tour which dates back to pre-medieval times. It is surrounded by vineyards, and forests. Within 1km of the house there are 2 caves where local produce and wine can be sampled. The village has 7 restaurants, 2 bars, a Tabac, Pharmacy, 2 small supermarkets, and 3 boulangeries. Yet the supermarket in St. Maxime is only a further 7 minutes. This location offers both the peace and calm of Provence with easy access to the coast at St Maxime with its harbour, shops & restaurants. From St Maxime the glamour of St. Tropez is only 10 minutes by ferry. In high Summer it’s the only way to get there! Alternatively St Tropez is 19k by car, and the villa is ideally located to access, St Tropez, St Maxime, Grimaud, and the A8 motorway, Exit 36, without getting caught in the coastal traffic..

Notes to the rental rates

  • Please note we can only accept bookings on a Saturday to Saturday basis. We quote for a minimum of 2 weeks rental, most times of the year, but please send an email if you require a week, and we will try to fit you in if there is availability. Note: 2008, one 8 day rental available 23/8/2008 to 31/8/2008.
    Rates are quoted in Euro. Payment will be accepted by cheque, or bank to bank transfer. As most of our clients are from the UK, please use the pound prices quoted on the website. Cheques drawn on UK banks are acceptable in Sterling. Please don't try to write them in Euro!!
    Rates quoted are all inclusive with no additional costs such as linen, towels, and departure cleaning.
  • Initial booking deposit is 25% to be paid at the rental agreement, with the residual 75% to be paid 6 weeks before the beginning of the rental. The refundable deposit of Eur 500.00 to be paid separately, and will be refunded within 7 days of the rental finishing.
    Cancellation penalties are specified in the rental agreement which will be forwarded along with all directions to the property.
    Discount may be agreed for a rental tem longer than 3 weeks, or outside peak season, please ask.

Rooms 2 & 3 each have double patio doors opening onto the garden. They also have fully fitted mirrored wardrobes, again with substantial shelving storage. Room 4 is to the front of the house and has a double bed. All linen, towels, cleaning, electricity, are included in the price.

Notes:

A low maintenance house, tiled and air conditioned throughout. Washer & dryer contained in the separate utility/store area. It has both a large family fridge, and a separate freezer. In addition to the main house we have just converted our 40+ sq metre garage into a 'den' which is air-conditioned with dvd/tv and it has its own shower, whb & toilet. We have 2 teenagers and their guests, so want it as refuge for (from?) them. The swimming pool has both an alarm & security fence, along with a jet stream for those with sufficient energy to 'swim against the tide'. It is cleaned weekly, and uses salt rather than chlorine as a purifier. We also have our own well, so the pool water is constantly replenished. The well does not service the house, which is served by the local mains water. Main living area has electric shutters, with remote control. The property itself is very private, not overlooked and has electric gates. We have wireless broadband, but bring your own laptop!

The area & location

Plan de la Tour is close to the chic resort of Sainte Maxime which is very popular with the French, and has an abundance of restaurants to suit every taste and pocket. It is a busy town, with a wonderful daily covered market, where fresh local produce and fish can be bought. It also has many shops, and cafe/bars to sit back, and take in the atmosphere. It has a marina, beautiful beaches, with boat hire, windsurfing, water skiing, and sailing, along with its own Provencal charm. An excellent location for teenagers, with discos, a water park, Adventure Park, bike and moped hire, and many other activities during the day and evening. Like all French resorts, it does get busy, but bearable, during peak season. There are regular concerts, fireworks, and other events throughout the summer, which peak around the 15th August, which celebrates the 2nd D-Day landing in the Ste Maxime/St Tropez area In Summer Saint Tropez is only 10 minutes away on the ferry which leaves every 20 minutes.

The House and Village.

It took us a long time to find this house, so we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. The house was constructed as a family home, and has high quality fittings throughout, electric shutters and gates. The pool house has to be seen to appreciate the work that went into it, including the hand painted mural! It is in the beautiful village of Plan De La Tour, just off the D44, a link road between St. Tropez, Grimaud and Sainte Maxime (9k). This makes the property ideal for touring, especially in high season when things can get very busy on the coast road, and its best avoided! In fact the best way to get to St Tropez is by ferry, which runs every 20 minutes from St Maxime. From Nice airport to our house is approx 1 hour (95k), and not one traffic light or town along the way! From leaving the house to the hypermarket in St, Maxime is approx 10 min (7k). Across from the hypermarket is Aqua land a water park open June to early Sept, the main parking area in Saint Maixime is 2k more.

Eating Out & further information.

Plan de la Tour is a self contained village, which boasts 7 restaurants 2 bars &2 Caves. Its a typical Provencal village with cosy restaurants and terraces to enjoy the Mediterranean way of life – but also has various ‘boulangers’, ‘charcuteries’ and small supermarkets with vegetable and fruit stalls, for your daily shopping. From the villa you can walk, or cycle, (2 bicycles available for guest use) to the village in approx 10 minutes, on a path beside the local vineyards. By car its 1,200 metres. For golfers the local golf course in Sainte Maxime which welcomes visitors, 18 Holes, Par 72, 6,150 m. Golf de Beauvallon, Roquebrune, Gassin Golf Country Club, Cap Esterel and many other courses are within easy access.
