Excellent provençal country villa with amazing views situated in a quiet country location within 10 minutes walking distance of the centre of Plan de la Tour – a thriving and historic village with several restaurants and all local shops. The beaches of the chic resort of Sainte Maxime are only 9km away and famous. Saint Tropez is only 22km away. Although situated in the countryside above the village the property is not isolated being one of a number of similar neighbouring properties in a quiet residential location just out of the village. Plan de la Tour has a population of nearly 2500 and has two hotels, everyday local shops, tennis courts and seven restaurants. It only 10-15 minutes’ drive to the delightful resort of Sainte Maxime in the Gulf of St Tropez with its’ sandy beaches, many restaurants and several supermarkets. Saint Tropez is a further 13km away by road or there is the regular water taxi service from Sainte Maxime harbour.

Plan de la Tour is a historic unspoilt village dating from medieval times surrounded by forests of pine and oak offering the peace and calm of Provence in the shade of the plane trees but equally with easy proximity to the coast and the glitz and excitement of the Gulf of St. Tropez. Day trips to Monte Carlo, Cannes and Nice are also easily possible. Alternatively - just a little inland there is the 'Arrière-Pays Varois' - the hinterland of the Var 'department' with delightful countryside of hills and valleys, vineyards and pine forests. Because of the wonderfully sunny climate agricultural production is varied and plentiful. There are 37,000 hectares (90,000 acres) of vineyards traditionally worked - often over many generations -by 450 different vintners. For visitors the choice of fresh produce is wonderful as this region produces every conceivable fruit and vegetable, honey, lavender, thyme and, of course, olive oil.

Notes: The property is very well presented, attractively decorated and comfortably furnished and is really well equipped including television, video, CD player, radio cassette dishwasher washing machine and BBQ. The compact gardens with stone-flagged covered dining terrace are mainly to the rear of the property and offer a high level of privacy with plenty of shade. From most of the bedrooms there are wonderful far-reaching views over the village to the Maures Mountains beyond. A very spacious south-facing and well-equipped villa benefiting from a private fenced swimming pool - 8m x 4m - and ideal for two families sharing.

What a view!

We (4 adults, 2 kids and 78yr old Grandpa!) really enjoyed our stay at this villa. Lovely, large terrace, which we used all the time and a fantastic view. Kids loved the pool, even if a bit chilly, but once you were in it was fine (Grandpa had a dip too!). Would say 20mins walk to the village, downhill! Did it once then sent my hubby! A better BBQ would have been nice, but really only a little moan. Take the boat over to St Tropez, much quicker than by car and good fun! Great holiday. Thank you!
