Carces dates from the 11th century and is one of the many charming, medieval villages in the area to visit. The Var region remains unspoilt and picturesque and is considered as one of the South of France’s most beautiful areas; a perfect place to stay and explore locally the many excellent restaurants, superb markets and wonderful vineyards.
Likewise, located in the heart of Provence, Carces is a great location to explore further afield as it is just a short distance inland from the Cote d’Azur and its lovely beaches such as Frejus, St. Maxime or St. Tropez which are within a 45 minute drive. Cannes, Marseille, Toulon and Aix-en-Provence are also an hour’s drive away. To the North you can visit the Gorges du Verdon, the Grand Canyon of Europe, for white water rafting, boating and kayaking. A choice of many excellent golf courses are within easy reach as well, including the Golfe de Barbaroux located in Brignoles, a 20 minute drive from Carces.
