VILLA L`AGACHOU - A substantial detached provencal-style four bedroom villa in a secluded garden with a large HEATED pool (11 metres x 5 metres). It is located just 10 minutes walk from the charming medieval village of Tourtour famous for its panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Situated in pine woods and hills over 1500 feet up, the air quality here is amazing! The villa has heavy wooden shuttering, keeping the living areas cool in summer without the need for air-conditioning. There is a lovely covered terrace by the pool with a built-in gas barbecue. The villa offers two double and two twin bedrooms. In addition to a large lounge, kitchen and dining areas downstairs, there is also a separate dining area, lounge and balcony upstairs, making the villa ideal for family groups. The downstairs lounge has a UK satellite TV with DVD player while the upstairs lounge has a TV/Playstation/video. Other facilities include table tennis table, boules and board games.

Set between the mountains and the sea in the centre of the Var, Villa L'Agachou well situated as a base to tour the region of Provence. It is a little over an hour's drive from the airports at Nice or Toulon/Hyeres.

Village of Tourtour: The villa is a 10 minute walk from Tourtour, known as the 'Village in the Sky' for its exceptional views of the surrounding countryside and listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village square is lively in summer with many good restaurants, two bars, and a number of art galleries & boutiques. There is a small supermarket and boulangerie (baker). The medieval part of the village has lovely little courtyards and narrow passageways, as well as a fossil museum and a working olive mill which in summer is used by local artists for exhibitions.

Surrounding Area: There are many other nearby villages to visit, all with something of interest. The Gorges du Verdon and Lake St Croix which offer swimming, canoeing and walking in breathtaking scenery are only 25 minutes away. The Mediterranean and sandy beaches are also about 50 minutes to the south at Les Issambres, Frejus or St. Maxime and it’s just a little further to St Tropez. The region has many interesting chateaux, abbeys, wine domains, art exhibitions and frequent local markets.

Access: The main auto route, the A8, is only 30 minutes away so Nice, Cannes, Aix en Provence and Marseille are all just over an hour’s drive. Italy is an easy day's outing and so are the picturesque islands just off the coast from Le Lavandou or Hyeres.

Lovely villa, my family consisted of my husband and I, our 3 boys age 7, 8 and 13, my elderly parents in there 80s and our aupair. This villa suited all our needs, downstairs bedroom for my mam and dad, who cant manage stairs, boys had the upstairs lounge for there games while we all got to watch some TV downstairs, perfect for two families really. Very clean and modern furnishings and some great extra touches, the owner has thought of everything to make your holiday a pleasurable experience. We were all delighted with the villa, there is not one bad thing to say about it. We stayed here in May 2006 and are planning a return very soon.

We had the privilidge of staying at l'agachou last week. The villa was very highly spec'd with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The kids room was an added bonus and a huge hit. It have us adults peace and quiet to watch Wimbledon on Sky! I would recommend this villa to all.
