This secluded villa is set in peaceful surroundings on a hill within walking distance of the charming village of Tourtour. The villa enjoys the panoramic views of Les Maures and most evenings beautiful sunsets. The location is ideal for sightseeing with an array of pretty typical Provencal villages within easy reach. Both house and swimming pool boasts panoramic views of the Provencal countryside and are set in 10,000 m2 (2.5 acres) of very private grounds. A number of steps lead down to a large pool (13 x 6 m) - completely fenced in, and below the pool an olive grove of 70 olive trees. The setting is very peaceful and there is a pleasant covered terrace with BBQ for al fresco dining. On the ground floor are a spacious living/dining room with fire-place, a kitchen, one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, one bathroom with WC, one bathroom, one shower room with WC (all en suite), and one separate WC. On the first floor there is a double bedroom with an en suite shower room with WC.

Tourtour: Tourtour, a medieval perched village nicknamed 'le villagage dans le ciel' (the village in the sky). It has a magnificent view out across the surroundings countryside. The hillsides are all forested, and you can identify distant lower villages with the help of the 'table d'orientation', and if it's clear you can see the Maures, the Luberon, Ste. Baume and the Ste. Victoire near Aix-en-Provence. The village is picturesque and the square is well shaded by plane and olive trees. There is a 17th century oil mill in the village and a 'lavoir'. The village centre also includes an imposing 16th century chateau with massive round towers at each corner (one dating to 12rh century). There are several nice bars and restaurants on the village square.

Nearby villages: Nearby villages worth visiting are Salernes (two super markets and Sunday market), Villecroze (horse riding), Flayosc (nice restaurants), Aups, (Wednesday market) and Lorgues (Tuesday market and tennis courts).

Grand Canyon of Europe: Gorges de Verdon & Lac St. Croix is great for water sports (37 km). Lac St. Croix is a magnificent turquoise lake - it is actually a dam which was created in 1975, built on the Verdon river. Sports: boat, canoe, peddalo, sailboard and horse riding. The Gorges de Verdon is deep, compact wild and beautiful. From Castellane to the village of Rougons, the Verdon River flows clear and swift, and the road follows along the banks.

La Cabiscolle ticked all the boxes for us:large pool, quiet location within walking distance of a village, generous accommodation, unspoilt views and with wifi Internet.

We were a group of 8 adults covering 3 generations. The convenient layout of the ground floor bedrooms, kitchen and living room, all opening onto their own terraced areas, allowed everyone their own personal space and beautiful view. The Provencal terracotta flooring throughout is attractive, practical and in keeping with the furnishings. You are walking into a home at La Cabiscolle, not a show house. It offers a comfortable, relaxed feel, is flooded with natural light and has more than the basic necessities for your holiday.Two of the bathrooms have been recently refurbished and plans are in place to renovate the kitchen.

The agent who oversees the letting of the villa was very helpful and prompt in dealing with the odd niggles that arose. She took more than just a detached business interest in the letting and was most approachable, informative and understanding.

We all loved our stay at La Cabiscolle. It's a must for those seeking an 'away-from-it-all' holiday and who dream of ending the day sipping a glass of wine outdoors before a wood-burning barbeque fire and magical sunsets.

The property description accurately reflected reality on the ground. The location was most impressive, with a short but brisk walk to the village of Tourtour. The property was was very clean and comprehensively equipped. We were particularly pleased with the range of cooking utensils and their cleanliness. The agent provided good customer service, relaying two minor irritations back to the owner for action. The cleaning team and the welcome they gave us arrival was very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others. We found the location particularly suitable for accessing the rest of Provence and the Cote d'Azur, with the motorway being within 45 minutes drive. The village is useful for day to day shopping but we found the Casino supermarket at Salernes to be excellent for our main shopping needs, and really quite handy.

best garden and view ever

This house is perfect for a big family who loves to swim in a large pool..The view is absolutely unforgettable and the garden is really super. The house is located close to a very romantic little very Provencal village Tour Tour. We had a fantastic week in this charming chalet.
