THE COTTAGE:
The property 'Sheherazade' is inspired by many trips to Morocco. It's a romantic hideaway in the heart of the Luberon, generously designed with its 650 sq.ft. (or 60 meters) surface, with every modern convenience, from walk-in shower to laundry machine, hair dryer, and a dishwasher in the gourmet kitchen. The thriving market town of Cavaillon is just a few minutes away, with its supermarkets, bars, and restaurants.
In case of any local difficulties or language problems you'll have the comfort of knowing the owner is right next door to help you out. Be reassured: if you don't want to see me at all: I have my separate sun terrace ... Private entrance to Sheherazade is over a small bridge crossing a tributary of the Canal St. Julien and down an alley of pine trees. A beautiful pergola has been added to the studio, for your siesta time or aperitif, covered with a wisteria for the shade - an ideal place to watch the sunset, and to grill the fish you found on the market.
SIGHTSEEING::
You are right in the heart of the 'golden triangle' of the medieval villages of Gordes, Menerbes, and Isle sur Sorgue, with its famous antique market every Sunday. Avignon is close by, as are Aix, St Remy and Arles. The Mediterranean is less than an hour away, (don't miss the Cassis-harbour and beaches!) and the Cote d'Azur, from Monte Carlo to St Tropez, is within 2 hours. Italy and Spain are a day-trip away. It's the perfect base for daily explorations, or just lounging by the pool.
Many people come here and simply never leave. Of course it helps that the weather is so good, the food divine, and the light so clear that artists have always flocked here - Van Gogh and Cézanne were the first!)
